  1. They difference is length, if you don't jam them in (you could damage the ejector without the stop of the basepad) they will work.
  2. Yes, it a different feel, shape and size. Either will work for an IDPA and house gun and the fit is going to be the significant difference if you are going to get it worked.
  3. What do you want to use it for? The XDm was designed a .40, so it is a bit more versatile for USPSA's many division, L, L10, Production and Open. The XD is more a Production, L10 and Open gun because of a lack of capacity in L (.40). Ergonomics is the other factor if you are getting it worked over.
  4. I do feel for the folks who pick up over pressure 9mm rounds and think they are fine. I would build the caliber around the gun you are building and not the other way around.
  5. There are many permanent coatings you can apply that will allow you to run your gun "dry" if that is what you want to do.
  6. I'm sure Rich would sell you a few, we have them also.
  7. I was lucky and got my 1050 for less than the cost of a 650, I can't see loading on something less now, but time is a premium for me. When I load on a two stroke press my elbow quickly get sore also, and I don't want to damage that more than I have to.
  8. If you don't want it and it is a 1050 and not super 1050 please let me know. 4,000 rounds is like new.
  9. I could tig one on a release for you Keep at it and you will get it done.
  10. It will only help if you are barely touching it, and the stock springs are not overly powerful. If you are serious about wanting to keep your thumb off the release, tape a tack to the release (dull it so it won't hurt you bad) and then do some serious practice. It should not take too long before you aren't crushing it with your thumb.
  11. Are you using extra power mags springs?
  12. Just don't try a 1050 with a bullet feeder and you might stay satisfied, I loaded over 100k on the square deal and then went to the 1050 and don't regret skipping the 550 and 650, though I have loaded on both various places. It is not just the speed, but the ease of operation and everything happening on the down stroke.
  13. 50K methinks you have not seen many good open guns. 50k is not very many rounds, you can add 1, 2 or 3 in front of the 50 and still have a great gun if it was built right and you change barrels and comps when they are done.
  14. Muhahaha. Don't forget to check your e-mail, sent some folks your way.
  15. Remember, simple green trashes aluminum. Learned this on the car forums thinking about de-greasing my LS1, lol. Simple Green has a lot of products, they do have aluminum safe products.
  16. Trust yourself, this comes with honest self evaluation of your abilities and good practice.
  17. Do you really want to know. Just think about a good big good looking (my wife's opinion) Nordic guy walking the west side of the Castro.
  18. You can also use a feeler gauge and cut a small piece for a shim in a pinch. It won't work free as quickly as dimples if the sight is really undersized. Welding up the sight is a better longer term solution IMO.
