  1. The screw and knob used in The Gripper is made in the USA and 10 times the cost of a simple screw.
  2. or the XDm... Pick the one that feels best for you.
  3. Not enough Masters in the NW to even matter, GM would be even less populated, as M is sparse. I'm for dropping all classes though, and if you give awards on the curve, then take it from match finish of the match curve.
  4. I'd like one too. Possible to make any more? Sure, send me a e-mail with your contact info and I can make a couple more up while I'm at since I need to replace mine.
  5. I'm not shooting the pistol, so e-mail me with your address and you can check out the one I have to see if it will work for you.
  6. I have a lathe and know how to use it. It is one of the perks of being a gunsmith.
  7. I made an aluminum one for my IDPA Match 9mm.
  8. It is a similar process, but not quite as durable as the DiamondBLACK. The estimates I was given is 85%.
  9. Raw aluminum only, not that great for aluminum either as it is a pretty soft substrate.
  10. If you actually think the XD is unpopular, you might want to visit our shop... My neighbor is the Rep for Springfield in the West and from their sales numbers, they are doing pretty well.
  11. If you are new and young it is an advantage, because you can learn a lot from watching the shooters up close and personal. It is an advantage on a "circus" stage when the SO's won't let you check out the timing and angles of shots because they want to keep it a secret (which only last for the first few shooters anyway.)Time spent SO is a great learning lesson if you take advantage of it, but it is more demanding on you, so if you don't have the extra energy to give, then it can be a disadvantage.
  12. IonBond doesn't do hard anodizing, but we do Class III hard anodizing.
  13. That is not allowed in IDPA or it would be the rage for sure IMO.
  14. We sponsor matches to support the shooters, and people looking for sponsorships should keep that in mind, as some people are asking for a ridiculous amount of sponsorship for a very tiny amount of exposure. Reaching 200 shooters, most of all who already know who you are already, isn't a super deal for the advertiser regardless of how good you think your match is, because most all of them will not purchase something out of the blue just because you hung a sign on a stage. We are much more likely to give sponsorship to matches with reasonable requests. Returning people expensive signage when requested should be respected also IMO.
  15. A pocket is much bigger than a mag pouch for stowing a mag. I've beveled some pouches, but the pocket is still bigger and faster for me.
  16. I know this isn't easy. I always shot my best when I was able to not care about anything at all. Not points, nor time, nor placement. Just get into the shooting without caring about it. be Being an "observer" when shooting always produce the best results for me. If I care at all about what I'm doing, then it takes away from doing, and performance suffers. If you watch Travis T. shoot the 3 reload 3 reload 3 in just over 3 seconds during the last show of 3-Gun Nation, if you look into his eyes, they are totally empty and devoid of emotion, he is just doing what he has trained to do and he makes an amazingly difficult feat look incredibly easy. If you don't trust your ability (whatever level it is) you will have a very difficult time performing to your abilities come match day.
  17. Use a cut off wheel to cut a slot for a flat head screw driver
  18. SA has offered a .1 and .2 extended release in their catalog for the XD.
