  1. Safariland has a duty holster for the XD tactical with light that will work with the XDM and light.
  2. Well, I'm passing on the info that my ATF rep gave me just a few month back. He said they only have oversight if you are in business to make money selling ammo. Sounds like they are not all reading out of the same playbook. I was very specific in my question, as I have no intention on making ANY money off of selling loaded ammo, but from time to time at the range someone may need a few rounds and sometimes they insist on giving you something for them so I wanted to know what the rules are. His explanation is in line with what the regs say, so I believe him. I agree you should asking your agent if you have any questions, as there no one at the ATF has told me the same story on gunsmith and manufacturing requirements because there is so much INTENT that is nonsensical and confusing.
  3. If you are not doing it for profit (ie you sell it for what it cost you to load it) and your INTENT is not to make money, then you are clearly not a business in the eyes of the BATF. That is why individuals are allowed to sell personal guns without BATF oversight. The BATF is heavy on intent. You are liable the moment you leave your house in the morning, so if your buddies want to shoot your ammo and you want to load it, that is between you.
  4. Much, much more expensive, as they take a LOT more time to do. The plunge cuts in the back is just measure where you want them, place it in the vise, chuck up the right end mill and dial the correct speed and punch a hole.
  5. You just need the proper sized bit and one plunge with the correct end mill. Here is one I did, note the holes are smaller because he is using an Aftec and the pad is longer than a conventional extractor and I didn't want it to show through the cuts. It is ubber cheap to cut the holes, so I would think it would cost more to hack at it yourself if you don't have the proper tools.
  6. Yes, those aren't drilled, they are milled. I'm sure someone could hack it out with a drill press and a pile of drill bits though if they were really determined.
  7. What kind of slide and holes? How good of a drill press do you have? What are you going to hold the slide with?
  8. It works well, if you want to keep the rear sight stock.
  9. What he said, plus take your budget and double it. If you plan on making good cuts, you will need good tools. We do a lot of refinishing and you can easily tell who has good tools and know how to use them versus the guys doing it on the cheap or are just plain don't know how to run a machine.
  10. Camo is key We are in the market too, so thanks for the contributions.
  11. You MD needs a rulebook if you are shooting USPSA.
  12. This area in yellow needs to be relieved, as it can bind on the larger head of the XDM guide rod. If you have one that looks like the one in the photo, it needs to have this area relieved so it doesn't bind and snap the lug.
  13. Custom sight orders which do not fall under the policy stated above are available at retail cost plus an additional $20 setup fee. We install more than a few Dawson sights, and I don't know of another sight manufacturer that will go above and beyond like they do.
  14. Yes, we coat the in IonBond DiamondBlack all the time.
  15. That is why I use Dawson Ice magwells, you can pop in a fresh insert when you want to look good
  16. Heck ya, I upgraded to the new servo feeds and couldn't be happier. It is a very tight true machine, although scraping 50+ year of stuff of it was a nasty job, it should be good to go for another 50+ years
  17. "Safety Blue" industrial paint looks pretty good with the Dillon 1050's. The benches and most of the other equipment stands are blue also. We just need to finish the DRO scale covers.
  18. About 50 hours worth of hard work from the guys and she looks pretty dang good.
  19. The feedback we get is that if you can not see the sights clearly, then the FO front and rear will allow you to use the bouncing colored dots to aim better with than just a front. Having good eye sight, it drive me nuts.
  20. Softer than carbon or tungsten. The DLC will make the surface of the metal more durable, but if you are missing hard enough and gouging the metal out the coating will come with it. We use a Class III Hard anodizing that works best on the softer aluminums, but the harder ones we can DLC.
  21. Can a .380 hold enough powder to make major?
  22. Just his ego. It was sort of a bugger to get the extractor out without taking off the slide. It was bent down drastically, so the slide couldn't go forward or rearward to remove the slide.
