I like to use MBX Springs and Taran Tactical Thin SV followers. The Taran Tactical followers are made out of Delrin which is much stronger than the 3D printed MBX followers. The "Thin SV" followers also make it easier to cram the most rounds possible in the mags. For example I can cram 21 rounds into my 140mm MBX 40 caliber mags when using the Thin SV followers.
Hi Charlie, do you use the same followers in 9mm open mags? Thanks

Yes. Thank you. Hearing about failures is also useful.

That looks awesome, Josh!

Has anyone used Sprinco recoil springs with the Dawson Tool-Less Guiderod? It seems like the diameter is larger than the Wolff Recoil springs and it may bind a little.

Honestly, that is mostly because the search function for the digital rule book is pretty bad.

Just buy an Infinity and get it over with.

At this point, may as well.

For a Glock G35?
Yes they just released 140mm mags for .40! I have 4 of them, they are great.

MBX 140 mm steel mags

I’d recommend MBX. Make sure you get a steel mag release. There are some nice machined/lasered ones out there like this one.

Although you can cram 24 into some of them, I’d say really they hold 23 reloadable. They fit the USPSA mag gauge.

If it’s for home defense, you may change the sights, but don’t mess with anything else. Don’t change the trigger, don’t mess with anything. Don’t make a critical failure your fault.

Duracell is where it’s at.

We’re getting way out into the weeds now......

Romeo 1, the glass is quite a bit higher which I find it easier to find the dot. And it is only a couple of cm narrower. The buttons work much easier. Just like the sight better. JD
Gotcha. Thanks.

What do you like about this sight “so much better” than your Sig? And what Sig red dot are you comparing this with?

The thread just became constructive. Thanks for sharing this photo. Now, you just have to decide whether or not a heavy frame is something you would want or not. I personally am currently using Cheely extra wide frames on my main open guns and like the extra weight.

To be clear, these are the 21 round VP9 mags. 9mm.

I think Troy is saying it IS legal, and is not listed specifically in the production list because it is considered a Shadow 2, and is not distinguished separately as a “Shadow 2 OR” because it is a variant of a Shadow 2. I don’t see in that email that he answered the specific question of “Is a Shadow 2 OR legal for production division”. You only asked why it wasn’t on the production list, which is not the same question.

Submitted to increase the knowledge base, as of this post, the 21 round ETS mags easily fit the USPSA gauge. In case anyone was wondering, like I was.

I have never used grease in there. In that gun, I use weapon shield CLP. Maybe it’s an ammo thing? Have you changed anything about your ammo?

My experience with JP GMR-15 and the Glock mags has been that the mags don’t feed as well with the super long extensions, probably because 9mm is tapered. My best experiences were with Glock brand mags with +10 TTI extensions loaded to 40 and MBX steel mags 170s with 3 inch extensions loaded to 40.

Special jam/misfeed prevention upgrade. You should be thankful. I guess the saying is correct, don’t buy an open gun from any company that starts with an “A”
