I've shot one. They aren't much different from shooting other Kimbers. That is to say the SIS shot well, looked good, and was reliable. I'm not sure it is worth the cost, but that is just personal preference. I don't believe you will be disappointed, especially if you've shot other Kimbers and liked them.

I don't think it can be stressed enough... get the press. You'll end being a much better shooter for when you can afford the new gun again.

Personally, I like hard chrome. I've gotten a few hard chromed (Ford's and Tripp) and both of the firearms have performed and looked beautifully. The finish looks just like it did the day I got them, even after extraordinarily heavy usage. 1 vote for Hard Chrome
