  1. Will the SIRT laser work on the Laser Targets from Laserlyte?
  2. I can't find the match results on USPSA .Have they been posted?
  3. Has the threat of the snow & bad roads cancelled the Sunday match. I have not seen anything on any of the facebook pages (Corey or Vol Shooter) mentioning the match.
  4. Since I voted yes & Glock has a beavertail version for the Gen 4 I'd be willing to try Glocks again . That is if anyone really has one. I've yet to see one, find anybody that has one or can order one.
  5. Corey the last time I shot at BSC there was talk of no longer allowing guests entry to the range. Has this been taken care of or do some kind of special arrangements need to be made? I hope to make either this on next Sundays USPSA match so a heads up would be appreciated.
  6. Hey Corey , how about a little relief for us working slobs? TWO kids in college ,OT pay on Saturdays, a short 3 hour ride to the range on SUNDAY morning & are you sure those dates aren't Oct 10-11? Good luck with your match. I'd love to see a bunch of big matches in KY plus a state championship. Are you listening GARY?
  7. While my match schedule will remain woefully low I'm taking NO chances on the election.I've already ordered an extra AR15 CAA CBS ,extra STI & MP mags & myself & some other shooting buds are putting out 5.56 Wolff ammo & Powder Valley powder & primer orders. Fool me once (1994) shame on you, fool me twice (2009) shame on me.If we have a DEM sweep count on the promised new AWB with teeth,a heatlth care tax on ammo & components & NO replacement bodies for high-cap mags.MY advice is lay off the guns, unless you need an AR or shotgun for 3 G un,& stockpile mags, ammo & reloading components . PS.If you are rich(really rich not BHO rich) buy any & everything you want!
  8. Want2race,bring your toys old & new & go to Ashland Gun Club on 9-14-08. They'll have 4 stages (1 classifier & 3 whatever stages) that,if you make the morning session can be shot with 3 diffenet guns. This should give you a good testbed for comparison. If I can't make the match to see for myself you can still post the results.
  9. Thanks Hank. I'd been lazy & had NOT checked on the shotshell tables . A quick look comparing AA Lite vs WST gives FAST burning a new meaning. Guess I'll just have to moan & groan some more & hope for a return of WSL. Thanks again
  10. It's that time of the year that our little group of shooters put in our Powder Valley order (bulk purchase & hazmat savings) & while I normally use TG my all-time favorite was WSL.Is the new WW AA Lite something totally diffenert, basically the same or the same. The powder would be used for everything (9MM Pb & jacketed40 minor & major Pb & jacketed reg lgth & long & 45 ACP Pb & jacketed). TG has been efective but the recoil IMO is heavier than WSL & the smoke with Pb Esp in heat is much worse. Any experience with AA Lite ,good or bad, would be appreciated.
  11. I voted for the 40 b/c I'm (a) old & lazy when it comes to reloading ( cheap & reloading 9mm with Pb bullets has been troublesome or worse © shoot an XD or M&P (d) basically just shoot local club matches. If I didn't reload or shot Glocks or did a lot of air-travel matches the vote would DEFINETLEY been for the 9mm.
  12. Is KAPS going to be able to continue having USPSA matches? It seems that KY clubs are having more than a little trouble with the ranges something I'm afraid is coming to EVERYBODY all too soon .The next scheduled match was Sunday & I hope it is still on.
  13. Steano the problem is the bullet profile.I bought a SPo1,shot about 150 rounds of 115 gr FMJ that I'd loaded 2 years before for a GSSF match with NO problems .One week later I headed out for a USPSA match with some newly loaded different brand 115 gr FMJ & could not get through a single stage of a 4 stage match without at least 1 double feed malfunction. At the same match I bought some 121 gr LRN which I loaded up,shot another 150 rounds then took to another 4 stage USPSA match with NO problems.Three different bullets,ALL loaded to an OAL of 1.130 with 2 TOTALLY different results.MY advice is to pull your bbl & drop check a loaded round, ignoring what the OAL is until you get to the point where the round will FREELY drop.AT that point set your die & check the chrono (short rounds will be hotter).YMMV but IMO I'd DEFINTELY drop check rather than trust OAL when dealing with SP01s.
  14. Any truth to a rumor that everything except the shotgun ranges have been shut down.?I was intrested into going to the March USPSA match.
  15. I am having my eye doc check into the Flash Focus system to see if it could be beneficial.I'll post the findings & would also like other shooters, trainers, etc to post their findings.I'd rather spend my $s elsewhere but winter weather means reduced shooting & old eyes can always use any/all help.
  16. As a member of the both the medical community & SE Victims Club let me add my story to the mix.The combo of years of shooting guns ,hitting tennis balls & advancing age gave me a very sore elbow this summer. A friend who is a PT gave me series of exercises,a friend who is a doc gave me the SHOT & being the druggist I added the meds. Two weeks of R&R & I returned to shootingNo pain & a local club victory was followed 1 week later with a very hurt elbow. A visit back to the doc led to a MRI & a visit to the surgery doctor which has led to a new piece of metal in my body(a pin in the elbow) which led to 10 days in a sling then 3 weeks in a very expensive robo-cop elbow brace. After 4 weeks of PT rehab here's my advice : (1) The exercises shown on the other posts are basically what I've been doing & will contine doing. Add a handroller exercise (this can be done at home on a stat bike or rowing machine if you have one),a Bowflex type strethcing series & the rollup series (there is an old Western with Robert Culp & R Welch that has her doing this same drill when learning to become a gunfighter).(2)The surgery doc strongly suggested my comeback be done with a heavy, light recoiling firearm(for all you who figured everyone in the med community hates ∨ knows nothing about guns he said no to major cal GLocks without even asking what I shot). I am now the proud new owner of a CZ 75 Sp01. (3) I'm limited to 20 dryfire draws per workout & while not painful that is the most discomforting exercise I do.(4)While drugs(ie Motrin,Naproxen, etc) are IMO both helpful & needed caution needs to be used with the SHOT. Steroids ,as good as they are, tend to mask serious injuries. In my case what was probably a partial tear of the tendon became a complete tear & some minor bone damage.(5)When you become a reluctant member of the Old Farts Club exercise is a must & Production starts looking better every day. GOOD LUCK
