Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks for your reply. I don't mind if it's an EAA rebranded gun, as long as it's a Limited Custom in 9mm.
  2. Hello, Does anybody know who stocks (in the US) Tanfoglio Limited Customs in 9mm? I rather purchase from a speciañized Tanfoglio dealer than from the usual big stores. That way, I think I have a better chance of getting one without any blemish or slight cosmetic issues. Thanks for reading!
  3. Thanks for asking. I ordered the Limited Custom in hard chrome, but with the lightened slide. Hopefully that's what I'll get.
  4. Thanks a lot for the thorough explanation. If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a couple more questions: 1) Would it be possible to have a chrome finish Limited Custom WITH slide cuts? I know, from dealers in AU and NZ, that you can have a black LC with no slide cuts. 2) Is chrome finish = hard chrome? 3) How durable is the polymer finish? Does it go on top of the hard chrome? I was under the assumption that hard chrome was probably the most durable finish... 4) VERY basic question: From your answer, I would assume that the slide cuts provide for less muzzle flip, but more perceived recoil? Thanks again for your time.
  5. Just visited the dealer. The Limited Custom is actually available in hard chrome, but the black finish is available on the pistol with the lightened slide, the same that you can see on the Tanfolglio site, described as the Limited Custom. So in essence, there's 2 models of the Limited Custom: the normal one, in hard chrome, and the Limited Custom Model 2007, in black with the lightened slide. Any suggestions on which would be a better choice for IPSC and IDPA?
  6. Thanks everyone for all your input. So, I assume both are exactly the same pistol, save for the finish? BTW, I thought the black Limited were not available yet in North America.
  7. I have the opportunity to order a new Limited Custom in 38 Super. In this country, it is available from the factory in 2 finishes: traditional hard chrome and a Black finish that I believe is a polymer coating. Which is a better finish? All my other Tanfoglios have the hard chrome finish, and it seems quite durable. Thanks for your comments.
  8. Thanks both for the great explanations.... I got an email from Tanfoglio, the black model has a polymer coating they call GK....
  9. Thanks Leo. Pllease pardon my ignorance, but what are the advantages of the lightened slides?
  10. thanks! did yours come with the lightweight slide (ie, elongated perforations)?? you can see it here, bottom of the page http://www.tanfoglio.it/news.php?act=2&Idcategoria=6
  11. I was considering buying what I thought was a Gold Custom Eric -- check this thread http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68939 but it turned out to be just an old Gold Custom (I was able to tell the difference with the info I got on this forum -- thanks!) So now I'm thinking about the new Limited Custom that can be seen on Tanfoglio's site. I'm not sure about the finish, though. What is it made of? Is it still hard chrome that has been "painted" somehow? How tough is it? Thanks for your comments.
  12. Thanks for all you comments and great explanations!! I'll let you know what model is the pistol I'm considering buying. *THANKS* a lot again.
  13. Hello, Total noob here. I currently have a Limited Custom, and have never fired a compensated pistol before. I have an opportunity to purchase a NIB Tanfoglio that has a compensator; it's labeled Gold Custom on the side. If somebody would be nice to enough to enlighten me, my questions are: 1) How can I tell whether the pistol is Gold Custom, or Gold Custom Eric? It was probably made in yr 2005 or 2006, has the same iron sights as my Limited (supersights?) and is all hard chromed . 2) VERY BASIC & DUMB question: what's the experience like of firing a similar pistol as opposed to my Limited Custom? Both are in 38 Super. How about accuracy? 3) What's the approximate going price for one of these? 4) Any holster suggestions? Thanks for reading!!
  14. Thanks J-Ho / Vous for your feedback. I'll probably buy the ParaOrd. Was more concerned about accuracy and fit & finish when compared to my Tan Limited than anything else.
  15. Hello, I recently purchased 2 Tanfoglio pistols. One of them is a Stock Custom (kind of like a Stock II, with aluminum grips, mag well and a full dust cover, but since it was not approved for Production, I guess Tanfoglio came out with the Stock II). The other is what EAA calls an Elite Limited, but the Tanfoglio site used to call it the Limited Custom. Now there´s a new Limited Custom 2007 model with a polymer coating, and a lighter slide. I assume the original Elite Limited, in hard chrome, is still been made? I am very satisfied with my 2 pistols. But I have this itch to purchase a 1911, and am considering a ParaOrdnance S1445 Limited (http://www.para-usa.com/new/product_pistol.php?id=11) This is the only 1911 brand available in this country. Any info / thoughts on how this particular ParaOrd compare to my Tanfoglios as with regard to fit, finish, accuracy and reliability would be greatly appreciated. The STS is not available here. -- rrp
