Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Recently saw a video of Strader saying that Sig was coming out with a small X5 grip module. Anyone have any more info on this. I like the X5 grip but I use a small one on my compact, thinking I might like a small X5 grip better.
  2. I like that answer. I guess the only thing you have to worry about after that would be weight.
  3. OK, so now that the release of 320 X-series replacement grip modules is imminent, I suppose swapping out the standard frame on an RX gun makes it illegal for Carry Optics and Production? Is there a different interpretation out there?
  4. Just got the memo. Any idea why?
  5. Check your stats Valer, I think you might have been looking at my line, though I drink a lot... Nice shooting.
  6. Sorry RDA, 147 FMJ. Jack, forgot I had it with me. By the time I remembered I only had the 5 rounds left. Brainfart, hoping to try again today. Yeah Basman, trying to avoid having 2 separate loads but I'm not really interested in kicking the PF up to 140+ with the other guns just to get the one to a safe PF. That being said, I wanted to shoot the STI as my ESP gun this year so I'll have to figure something else out if nothing changes.
  7. Loaded up some 9's to chrono for power factor. With 3.6 of 231, 1.15 OAL, Win primers. Glock 34 gives 134 PF, Glock 17 drops to 132 PF, XD 5 inch gives 134 PF but then the STI Trojan 5 inch drops way down to 126 PF. The STI .40 and Glock 35 are pretty close in PF so one would think the 9mm's would be comparable. It was a little overcast so I'm thinking (read hoping) maybe there was a change in lighting. Has anyone run across this much variance before? I'm going to load up some more and try again but the velocities were pretty consistent 856, 858, 868, 852, 866 FPS. Thanks.
  8. Don't have any scientific explanation for it but my transitions between targets and target acquisition seems to be quicker with the 17. Long range accuracy is better with the 34.
  9. Roger that JBP, thanks for the info. Does the 8lb still have the plus or does that not exist anymore?
  10. I've been out of the Glock world for a while shooting 1911's but have gravitated back buying a G34 for 3-gun about a year ago. Last night I tore it down to do some polishing and found that I have a stock 5 lb connector. I remember some flap a while back about this or that connector being called a 4.5 lb and so on but I thought traditionally all of the long slides came with the 3.5 lb connector.
  11. Mine will misfire 1 out of 5 or 6 with Remington shells but runs flawlessly with Winchesters. Go figure.
  12. Had to go down to 8 to make AA 115's run reliably in a Trojan.
  13. OK, so I signed up for the BUG Nationals but have some questions as I have never shot a BUG match. I'll shoot either a Spartan III or a Glock 26. What's the deal with mags? Can I have finger extensions on the Glock mags? Can I just use regular 1911 or Glock 17 mags? Does it just have to fit in the box or is there some other rule I'm missing? would the 1 ounce over rule apply and would it apply to the full size mags or the shorter mags? I've used these guns for PPC off duty matches and they satisfy the rules with the finger extensions and/or full size mags but I'm new to this IDPA stuff. Thanks.
  14. I tried Metalform .40's - Crap. Then bought a few .40 McCormics and they ran fine, but now I just run regular Wilson 47D's in .45 and they run flawlessly. And I don't have to worry about bringing the wrong mags if I want to shoot the .45.
