  1. I have been carrying a concealed handgun since Florida passed its current CWP law in 1987. Since then I have gained several, er, um hundred pounds! OK I admit it I am a lard butt. I cannot be the ONLY person here with that issue! I see y'all at gunshows and us big boned fellows are a great neglected and forgotten minority of shooters! I have been carrying my S&W 640 in my front right pocket for years with no problems exept it is SLOW to get out into action. If I carry a larger pistol (SIG P229, Glock 23, etc) I put it into my butt bag or a leather FOBUS inside the waist band clip on holster. I have been thinking about going back to a regular waist holster and wanted your advice. I know, I know loose weight...easier said than done...! I usually do not wear a belt as I am a confirmed suspender man. I find when I do carry a holster clipped inside my waist band that it has the habit of rolling out. I have been thinking about getting involved in IDPA and would also like a street holster so I would like your advice. I need a source of a belt that is thick enough to prevent roll out but long enough to go around my 58 inch waist. I actually would prefer NOT to wear a belt but cannot think of another way of making a holster fit without the roll out or retention issues (clip on holsters seem to be easy to snatch the whole holster and gun out of waist band). Can some one also recomend holsters for large boned boys? I have been thinking about the FOBUS plastic holsters as I have some of their leather pieces that work sort of kind of.
  2. Brian, Found this post as we had talked about on the phone, Thursday. Very informative and helpful. You have a great site here and I can see I am going to be poking around quite a bit. Thanks for the help and I will bet getting back to you next week about an order!
