Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Can you please share the link? I am in the same boat and when I try to shoot with both eyes open I can't find my front sight in the rear sight notch, almost like my eye dominance is too close with both eyes. Thanks, Chris
  2. I am a real newbie to competitive shooting, but I have dealt with tennis elbow for a while. I have had cortisone shots, but it took several months of physical therapy to fix it. After doing a lot of gun manipulations, it always seems to flare up. I picked up an armaid, which really helps a lot as it allows you to roll out the knots in your forearms which are a big trigger point for the inflammation and pain. It looks like a big lobster claw but it really works. Hope you feel better.
  3. I have a real eye dominance problem, so shooting with both eyes open is really difficult unless I am using an optic (aimpoint or eotech). I have tried the tape over the eyeglass trick to train my one eye to be dominant, but it seems like it is left eye 60% / right eye %40%, just enough to mess with me while shooting. I end up squinting slightly to sharpen the focus on my left eye, but if you guys know of any eye dominance exercises that might help I would be grateful. I would really like to be able to shoot with both eyes open, but maybe my brain isn't wired for it
  4. Thank you guys for the quick replies and the suggestions. Chris
  5. Greetings and salutations, I am a newbie to revolvers, and have absolutely fallen in love with my 4" S&W 625. I am looking to set up a competition rig with it, and up until now I have been using a Safariland custom-fit holster, a 5.11 nylon belt, and california shoot-a-moon moonclip holders. My question is this: the CR Speed belt is listed as being 1.5" wide. The Shoot-a-moon clip holders fit nice and tight on my 1.75" wide belt. If I use the CR speed belt with the shoot-a-moon moonclip holders, will they be too loose and wobble around or will it be wide enough to hold them securely? Thanks in advance for any information before I drop the money on the belt. Chris
  6. Wolff reduced power mainspring and trigger return spring, sent off to Nelson Ford for an action job, trigger polished, and chamfering of cylinders, SDM fabrication fiber optic front sight, Cylinder and Slide extra long firing pin, and SDM checkered barstock cylinder release. Pretty much the only other thing that I will change will be one of those "plugs" to get rid of that nasty internal lock.
  7. I ran through my first "official" pistol match this year (Combat Classic at Phoenix Regional Academy). I was safe, had fun, and learned as much as I could. I really don't care about where I place as long as I do my best. You are not the only newbie out there, there are lots of us. Chris
  8. Vanessa, I don't know of any particular ranges that are wheelchair accessible, but I wanted to say a big THANK YOU for what you do. My friend is a medically retired LEO and is paralyzed from the chest down, and I have been working with him to get back into shooting. Again, thanks for looking out for disabled shooters. Chris
