  1. I know you're taken aback by the price on the SVIs, but I'd urge you to reconsider: I bought the new style ambi directly from SVI 3 weeks or so ago and got it inside of a week. I'm left handed and it's the only one that has consistently worked for me (I have a STI frame). It also didn't require any fitting whatsoever and is a cut above in construction quality.
  2. Here's a pic of the crack. Given how noticeable it is, I'm assuming that it happened very recently and not over a long period of time.
  3. Found a new crack in the slide at todays match, so that may the what's causing the flyer. I'll post a pic when I get home. The gun is a very used Bedell Custom. Anyone know what replacing the slide (and probably barrel) runs? I think the frame is solid, but given the round count (~100k) and multiple slide cracks would it be better to replace the whole gun? I wouldn't want to spend a ton on a new upper just to have the frame crack...
  4. Look like Pat's problem is exactly the same as mine... If i wasn't shooting off a bench my target would look just like the picture he posted in his thread. Pat, do you use a slide racker? I wonder if its because of how the slide gets torqued when racked as opposed to the release.
  5. My open gun is shooting the first shot about 4 inches high and 2 inches left from about 15 yards on the first shot after loading. The rest of the bullets in the magazine will group nicely inside of a quarter or so (This was tested off a bench). The bullets are not tumbling and I can't see any obvious markings on the comp. I can only guess that it's not going fully into battery after being loaded but i can't see anything obviously wrong with it. Anyone seen anything similar?
  6. Not normal -> Back it goes then! Thanks for the fast responses!
  7. I just purchased a new C-More sight for my open gun and the plastic part on the back of it is bulging quite a bit. It doesn't seem like I can remove it and while I can press it in to lay flat, it takes a lot of force and immediately goes back to this state when I let go. I've attached pics that show it. I'm worried about trying to mount it since I may break it with the amount of force I'll have to apply to the screws to make it lay flat. Is this normal or should I return it (my old one is flat underneath)? Thanks!
  8. Hi All, I'm a lefty and I've got some problems with my ambi thumb safety on my 2011. Both stem from actuating the right side (which I have to do since I'm a lefty): 1) the whole left side part of the safety walks out and separates from the frame. 2) the front part of the left side of the safety sometimes bends outwards (see picture). This causes the safety to bind until i wiggle it and push it back in manually (see the attached picture for the part that separates and cases it to bind). To solve (1) I compressed the prongs that hold it together and it helped a bit. For (2) I tried used some pliers to make sure that the rod with the prongs is exactly 90 degreed to the part that goes flat against the frame which worked for about 1 session. I suspect I need a new safety in general since this design seems really poor for someone who only actuates the right hand side. Does the Caspian internal locking ambi safety work on 2011s without modifying the frame? It seems like a more solid design. Any other safeties that work really well for lefties? Anyone else had this kind of a problem and can offer any advice? Thanks!
