  1. Be sure to get a clear estimate of the time it will take. Mine has gone WAY over the estimate AND two promises to ship the following day have not been kept. Communication seems to be a huge problem there at Grayguns. Still, they do seem to be the go to Sigsmiths.
  2. I too am among the burned. I'm out around $275.00 I'd purchased from Chris before and I was very impressed with his product. I was so impressed I placed and order for a couple of Holsters and some mag holders. That was the last I heard from him. I called three and four times a day for a few weeks. I'd already waited 4 months at that point. I visited a number of other gun forums and discovered the Chris has left a lot of people high and dry. It's bad that he never filled our orders, but worse that he kept our money. I've lost all respect for the guy ans consider him just another internet con man. I'd be willing to bet you guys won't be seeing him at any matches. I don; think he can show his face anymore in the competitive shooting arena.
  3. Hmm, this is interesting and I think it addresses the question I came here with. I shoot a Sig Sauer P226ST .40 S&W. I generally shoot in Production, but would I be better off shooting in Limited Ten?
  4. I shoot a P226ST .40 S&W in Production. I have to agree on the trigger, but I'm such a bad shot I don't know that that would matter that much to me I did buy an XD wanting to keep up with the Glock guys, but in reality t needs work. I keep meaning to send it in to Springer, but I keep spending all my money on ammo. Still I prefer to shoot what I would normally carry so its the P226, but I did shoot the P239 in .40 S&W as well.
  5. My apologies to anyone who felt I was "accusing" Barsto of over charging. As some here have understood, I was in fact just wondering if the Bar Sto Barrel was worth spending $200 dollars on instead of using the stock barrel that came with my XD. It would seem that to consensus is that they are worth another $200 investment. Again, no harm intended.
  6. As I get my New XD .40 5" set up for USPSA Production division, I have the option of getting a Barsto Barrel. Are these barrels that much better than stock?
  7. Ever since I first used Slide Glide just about four months ago, I have been in love with the stuff. I have it on all my firearms. A friend tried his P239 and P226 ST next to mine with the SG on it and he's now a convert. I've been testing it out on my P226ST .40 to see how tough it really is. I figure the ST can take it. I have about 3000 rounds down range with out cleaning it or reapplication and it's still working like a charm. To be fair, the initial application was pretty generous, but a lot of that gets wiped off after the first range session.
  8. I got the Xd back last night, so to recap the turn around time, ...I sent it to SA Tuesday night, Dave WIlliams at SA got it Wed morning, he fit a new match barrel (thanks for the sweet barrel) to my XD and sent it out the same day. I got the XD back last night. Talk abbout awesome customer service. Now I get to use my XD (my match gun) in the local match tomorrow. I took my pistol to the range today and put 550 rds through it. My lead reloads, my jacketed match ammo reloads, and 115gr winchester white box factory. Zero malfunctions of any kind. The barrel fit to the slide is tight, and in a good way. This XD is still heiniously accurate. It has 13,000 rounds through it in 11 weeks (probably a few hundred more). I am massively impressed with how the whole thing was handled by SA. I have shared this story with several people already and they were all impressed. Between USPSA, IDPA, and a little bit of three gun I see alot of people. I hope the people at SA realize what a gem of a guy they have in Dave, and what an impact this will have on my future interaction with other shooters regarding my loyalty to SA. This has been a great thread to follow as I have a newer XD .40S&W 5". I plan on sending mine to Springer ASAP as I hear nothing but good tings about them. I've only toyed with mine, making sure it digests all defensive and practice loads I like. Not one hiccup in the lot. I have some gear (blade-tech) ordered for it today so I can shoot it in USPSA soon. I almost feel like I'm cheating on my Sigs. Keep us posted.
  9. I hope this is the right place to ask this. I shoot a Sig P226 ST .40 in Production. It's pretty new, and fairly stiff. Would many of you change the springs in this firearm for better performance? Is it allowed in Production devision?
  10. If I may ask, what did that run you to have that done by Bruce?
  11. Hi all, I've been to Brian's site before, but never saw the forum. Good stuff. I'm a new member of USPSA and will shoot my third IPSC match on the 9th. I shoot a Sig P226ST in .40 S&W. I really like it and I think I do o.k. with it. I am curious though. If any of you Shoot Sigs in Production, what modifications, within the rules of course, have you made? I realize this is a very narrow are for a Production gun.
