  1. Extended Henning base pads work with LOK magwells.
  2. What's the best way to remove the factory installed screws without screwing them up; heat, etc?
  3. Thanks Andy, the Henning Extended base pads do fit the LOK mag well and the Pro's do not...reading comp not my best subject. Thinking about one of those LOK extended mag releases but need a recommendation from someone who uses one.
  4. Hi Andy, At a match this weekend I tried a buddy's TTI extended base pad mag in my LOK magwell equipped Shadow 2, and it fit. Got home and tried the Henning Pro base pad mag again, still about 3/32" short of seating. Did you make any mods to get the Hennings to work? Extended mag release looks great; how does it work for you? What trigger is that?
  5. You are very welcome. I'm also getting stuff together to shoot Limited Optics. I'm in a 10 round mag limit state and got myself in a jam over base pad locking plates. To avoid compatibility problems, I chose to go with a supplier that made grips, magwell and base pads, but they don't make compatible locking plates...so no way to keep the pad on the mag. I had a lot of $$$ tied up in that stuff for two Shadow 2's...and ultimately, Henning saved my investment. Never thought of using plus 4/5 extensions for my 10 rounders (17 round MecGar dimple restricted to 10 rounds). But as you have found, no one appears to be selling totally compatible grips, magwells and extensions. I did read on here somewhere that Henning is coming out with a magwell and I'm waiting for that since I really like his base pads...and he provided the locking plates I needed when no one else could. Seems like he's got it all together. Soon, there will be a $hit storm of stuff to buy for LO...just hang in there a while longer.
  6. I have a LOK magwell and the only base pad I could find that works with it is the LOK base pad...it has a round locking plate hole. Problem is, all my mags have square hole MecGar base pads. MecGar changed to square hole base pads about three years ago, and no longer has round peg locking plates for sale. I could find none in the aftermarket. LOK does not currently make square hole base pads, nor do they make round or square peg locking plates. So, to make things work I had to buy Henning round peg locking plates that decrease round count by one since they are intended to be round count limiting locking plates. They currently are the only ones I could find that work with LOK base pads, and cost $7.95 each. Sounds like a "square peg in a round hole" situation, for sure.
  7. Go with "B." Your issue is at 2:25.
  8. Quick draw holster lube?
  9. Depends on how long they been in there; cheap to find out. I'm running 4# striker springs; sets off CCI, Win, primers without fail.
  10. Clean your striker channel? Replace your channel liner? New spring cups?
  11. Yes, I have JG's (black), wire diameter is .0325 (Timney red is .032). Reset is much stronger.
  12. Link to source on that .040 please!
  13. I have a new Shadow 2 ACCU, so this may not be applicable to TSO. My guide rod measures 3.928" (95 Millimeters is equivalent to 3.740157480315 Inches)...and longer is always better! The guide rod is recessed .090" from the end of the spring retaining bushing. CZC does nice work.
  14. Timney for the stock springs; JG for Extra Power springs.
  15. I have the factory minus connector in my Gen3 34's and 35's, so not the same. Timney Alpha, Vex Shoe and JG's new Extra Power trigger return spring (black). All are breaking at 1# - 6 oz on average (1# - 3.3 oz prior to JG EP spring, so yup...lost out there). Reset is as close to instant as can be had in Glocks. Best set-up ever! But not going to wait any more for Glock new stuff; Shadow 2 inbound.
  16. Wak, if that was meant for me, sorry but I don't possess the technology to do so...my bad!
  17. Try pressing down harder with the thumb on your strong hand and watch your front sight / dot dance around. That might happen in stressful situations like when the timer sounds and you involuntarily increase / decrease your grip strength. I place the side of my support thumb in the take-down lever indentation with light pressure, using it as a reference point to consistently locate my support hand at an aggressive angle forward (as rpm8300 said). That also gets more support hand "meat" on the grip. To avoid disturbing the front sight / dot, and also to avoid unintentionally engaging the extended slide stop lever with my strong thumb, I raise it up and away and form a nice cradle for the beaver tail in the process. Each to their own, YMMV and good luck to you in your search.
  18. The gun doesn't matter...and neither does the bank account; money so very well spent. Good on you and thank you for sharing vital info.
  19. Which model: competition or steel challenge?
  20. "But I like it I might get it for my Glock open gun." Joe, go ahead and try one...you are going to like it. I just ordered three more (and I don't have an open gun).
  21. Not saying it's legal for CO, it's not. My post refers only to this provisional division when and if it is adopted: https://uspsa.org/documents/minutes/20221220 USPSA Limited Optics Provisional Divisional Rules Recommendation.pdf
  22. When and if the "USPSA Limited Optics Provisional Divisional Rules" is approved, it looks like both of these might become legal in that division: "Thumb rest permitted - Yes" I got one of the Tec Performance ones to play with in the mean time, and it is an extremely well made product that actually works. Easy to install and rock solid. Had to file off a small amount at the top of my RHT competition holsters to get it to fit; otherwise no alterations needed. I'm shooting Glock 34's and 35's; don't know if they make those for other guns. Obviously, I'm enjoying all the shooting benefits that a thumb rest has to offer. Thank you USPSA if the division is approved!
  23. Glad it worked for you too. Easy fix; hard to understand why this wasn't dealt with in production.
  24. Ultimately gave up after working with banks and cz parts. Comgate was the transfer agent and after a week of trying to get it done I gave up and ordered through a cz buddy whose credit card never has had issues making this type of transaction. Stanislav Koot at cz parts was excellent, extremely cooperative, knowledgeable; they are a good company to work with.
