  1. Thanks Quack, I didn't know how the sti frame looked without the magwell.
  2. Quack that's a good looking pistol. What magwell is that? I just ordered a lite and I'd like to find a lower profile magwell.
  3. Which Reticle shape and color do you guys thing would be best on the new Trijicon 1-4 Accupoint? Thanks for the advice.
  4. Thanks Flex just what I was looking for. I spent about 20 minutes on google and didn't find it, I should have thought to go straight to USPSA website.
  5. I'd like to start out by thanking everyone for the help they have given me so far in starting up and choosing equpment. Thank you for the suggestion of Steve Anderson's book it has been most excellent. My second IDPA match happened to be the calssifer. I did ok but I didn't really feel I shot to my potential on the 20yard portion mostly b/c I have never shot around a barricade like that before. I managed to get Sharp Shooter but I really feel I could have gotten Expert. I'm planning on building my own barricade 2ft by 6ft. That is simple enough but in my previous USPSA match I shot through a port in a barricade and that was a first time for me. I want to build two ports in my barricade. One about standing height and one about kneeling. Can anyone help me out with the average sizes of the ports, and the average standing and kneeling heights of the ports? Thanks in advanace for any help you can offer me.
  6. Bart, For mag carriers would you suggest bladetech too? Would I be better off with a double carrier or two singles? Thanks for helping with all my questions.
  7. I'm going to start shooting USPSA matches and IDPA matches. I'm looking for a faster holster to use instead of my IWB leater model. I'm going to be shooting a single stack Kimber 1911 in .45. Most people in the beginer's forum suggested I get a Bladetech DOH. I was about to order that holster but then I read it wouldn't be legal for single stack division. I'm looking for suggestions on a good holster, mag carriers, and belt that I could use for Singe Stack USPSA matches and IDPA matches. I'm also looking for reccomendations on where to order this equipment. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me.
  8. Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer my questions, and thanks for the welcome. I ordered Mr Andersons book from Mr Enos. After I have a few more matches under my belt I'll look into getting a Bladetech holster.
  9. Hello Everyone. I'm making this post to introduce myslef to the board and ask a few questions. My name is Emil but everyone who knows me calls me Trey. I'm new to competitive shooting. I've shot one IDPA match and one USPSA match. I had a ton of fun and plan to stick with it. I recently purchased a timer and I'm intersted in learning to train with it. Funds are a little tight and for now I'd like to purchase just one book, workbook, or video. I already have some training material. I have Brian's book and 1-4 of Matt Burkett's videos. I'm very pleased with everything I've purchased so far. As of now I'm working with an IWB Leather Holster by Milt Sparks. The holster is super comfortable for daily carry but I eventually want to get something else to compete with. I'm shooting a Kimber Custom II single stack 1911. I'm intersted in a quality holster that would work well in IDPA and limited 10. I don't plan on buying the holster for a while b/c I like the idea of training with my every day holster just for personal defense reasons. Finally one of my more long term purchase goals is a quality Airsoft gun as close to replicating my 1911 as possible. The only external modifications I've done to my Kimber are Gunners Grips and a S&A one piece mainspring housing/magwell. So there you have it, Hi to everyone on these boards and if anyone has any advice on training materials, a holster and an airsoft gun I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer me. Trey
