Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I would recommend that you spend the money and get a LabRadar unit. The old saying “ You get what you pay for” definitely applies when buying a chronograph. I have owned and used many different makes and models in the last 30 plus years. Ranging form the cheap all in one units to top of the line Pact that served me will of over 15 years. After I got my LabRadar unit last year, I would never go back to a using any chronograph that used optical screens. My LabRadar unit is very simple to setup and use and works in conditions that it would be impossible to use any of the other optical units I have owned of used. I no longer have to be concerned about clouds, wind or the position of the sun. Testing loads is now a pleasurable experience, not an exercise in patience waiting for all the conditions to be just right.
  2. I took mine to the rang today. The weather was windy and cloudy, none of the standard chronographs that I have owned would have worked well, if at all. i fired over 100 rounds, 22LR, 380 Auto and 45 Auto. I had no problem with any of them. I can not say enough good things about it. This is what chronographs should have been all along. Fast and simple set up, no wasting rounds getting the skyscreens set just right, in fact nothing down range to mess with at all. All in all a very pleasant experience.
  3. I got a e-mail notice from Midway on the the 18th at approximately 7:40 am that they had them in stock. I immediately placed my order and was informed a few minutes later that my unit would ship that day. Three hours later when I checked the status of my order and they had already sold out at that time. I have been out of town until now and hope to get to the range tomorrow to check it out.
  4. Thanks for all the info. I ran a bunch of brass through the RXG die and it works great. Decided to get some new walnut media to clean the brass first and I am using the old walnut media to clean the lube off the finished cases.
  5. I had the same problem with the 40 brass that I picked up over the years from my old PD range. Most of it had been fired in our Glock 22s. I just got a Redding G-Rx die. I ran several hundred through it and they now work fine in my Dillon Square Deal. As I now only shoot 40 in a Browning HP, I will only have to run the brass through the Redding die once.
  6. I have a large number of 40 S&W brass that came from my old PD range. It was all fired in Glock 22s , so it all has the Glock bulge. I just ordered a Redding GRX Push Through Die to remove the bulge. The cases must be lubed and I will most likely use Dillon spray lube, as that is what I have. I was wondering what would be the best media to use in my case cleaner to remove the lube from the cases.
  7. Brian, I get most of my reloading supplies from a company near me, Arms & Ammo. They sell cast bullets from Bushwacker Bullet Co., their bullets are very high quality and the price is not too bad. Here is a link to Arms & Ammo’s site. http://www.armsandammo.com/ Milt
  8. Thanks for the info. I have some Tightgroup that I use to load 40 S&W, so I will load up some test lots with it and hope for a nice day to get to the range sometime soon and have some fun.
  9. This is my first post here and I need some input on powders and loads for use with a 155gg LSWC bullet in 45 ACP. I have not loaded any rounds for 45 for many years. I recently pulled my old comped single stack 1911 out of the safe and would like to play with it again. When I competed with it years ago I had worked up a load with WSL that worked great and had no trouble hitting the old USPSA 175 power factor. Now I discovered that WSL is no longer made. I do not intend to compete with it, I just need a load that will be accurate and hot enough to make the comp work.
