LaRue Tactical Multi-Gun
Kyle O replied to SGDM's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
6.3.1 Firearms must be of a factory configuration Refering to my AR Does this mean that I can't change my grip, stock or forend? Could someone please elaborate. Just want to be sure if I decide to make the trip. -
I've shot stages where the gun has to be placed on a table loaded, to retrieve a back up gun. As long as control was maintained, I see no harm in this.

I haven't studied on it extensively yet, but a friend of my brother told us that he used BLC2, and had good results. Anyone ever use this stuff? I ask b/c my brother went off and bought a pound of it to try. Sorry if it is not an econo load as I have never purchased any thing to load 223.....yet.

I can't think of any other sports where you can play with the pro's. I've shot against Matt Mink....and lost. Still fun though!

It may very well be a +5 tube and I may be off. I honestly can't remmember, but my 870 will hold 9+1 now. I later learned that a 9+1 capacity is open class. If your gonna run iron sights or a beed, then get whatever will give you 8+1, that will be tactical division. Again, I'm no rules guru, but I think you can have a tube extend past your muzzle as long as the capacity rules apply. Someone please chime in that knows forsure.

I put a Choate pistol grip stock and +4 extention on mine, but looking back I should have gotten the +3 b/c 9+1 is open class. I like it, good luck on yours

I am liking steel more and more. Been shooting it for 2yrs now. I finally wised up and started shooting it rimfire, saved me tons of money, and is superb practice.

Damn bro, Sorry, I lost 3 at the same time, I feel you, and know you'll make it through kyle.

I'd have to agree about the 550, you will be pleased. Also, read some books or pamphlets on reloading. Get good data to start with caliber specific if you can, and a chronograph. I just can't reload without a chrono, it will be money well spent. I loaded without a chrono for a while, and it's like missing a huge part of the equation. you'll love it though, all in all, a very rewarding hobby.

thanks for the imput. I am leaning twoard a benelli, but a still pondering for a while yet. About reloading, I plan on practicing this as I have noticed that the guys who reload in the blink of an eye always kick ass far and beyond everyone else. So....what stuff is there on the bottom end of the shotguns to aid in quickly slamming the shells in the tube? I'm thinking the equivalent to a mag funnel on the bottom of a handgun. Or is there such a thing?

Thanks, I'm a do it your selfer anyway, so that route is likely. But.... I figured there was something out there just waiting for a credit card number. Oh, hell, who am I kidding, I'll probably buy some and make some, and trade them out with each other the rest of my life..

I took the topend apart and it was dirty, you were right! now I need to test fire it again and see if it works if not will take your advice, and send it to them. I couldn't figure out how to get the firing pin out, i figured it didn't come out so I cleaned what I could. That long pin with the spring attached to the buffer is an sob to get back together. finally got it back in. what an undertaking though thanks I have a couple of models where if you take out the firing pin/slide assembly, you need other new pins to reassemble, I ususally soak it to the max with solvent, and use compressed air to blow all of the solvent & fouling out. It works real well for me.

Yes, Yes, this is the meat I was looking for.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

I want to get a shotgun to shoot 3 gun matches. I want a semi auto. brand? type? etc. and Why. Are the "inertial driven" guns very good vs. gas operating systems. please elaborate some. I plan on researching some after this is posted. What "parts" would you recommend such as brand of sidesaddle, shotgun equivalent of a magwell?, tube extentions 8+1 or 9+1 etc... I want to get lots of good help before I drop a dime on anything. I don't want to go open class, but whatever is right under that. (really, I haven't looked up anything yet, but I know I want to do this) anything really. thanks everyone.

I've got a pair of mil-tac G-10s from Nighthawk Custom, but I want the fattest grips possible for my other 1911. Thanks folks. kyle

Just got my tactical solutions top end in the mail yesterday. I can't wait for the extra trigger time! -
I liked the Sig 226 Mulder used in X-files, but I bought a 229R. It was a series, so does that even count?

Pat, Buddy, nice to meet you guys and yes squad 11 did rock! Thanks for all of the help if any of you see this! Shot some good, shot some bad, won some prizes, made some friends, ate some great food, had a helluva lot of fun! Boy, I hope this match didn't spoil me! kyle -
I've got a "Workforce" open face / bucket style tool "bag" (not really a bag, but rigid) for about 15 dollars at Home Depot. Works great, and I can find stuff in it from 10 feet away just by looking. It's got pouches all the way around it inside and out, for: mags, timer, ammo, staples, loaders, pens, calculator, rags, oil, multi tool, grocery sacks for brass, holster, mag pouches, and whatever else you can think of.

Try shooting "Bill Drills", and you will eventually "see" the sights moving while also learning the rythym of your gun. The short on bill drills is shoot 6 rounds as fast as you can WHILE GETTING CENTER ZONE HITS! Reload, then repeat. I can see my sights moving now, and can call my shots, but it took about ten thousand rounds. good luck, kyle

Thats about what I thought, Thanks everyone. Strike 2 for me. I found some tightgroup, and some load data that gives me a starting point.
