Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks for the post. These are interesting ways to change the dryfire up a bit.
  2. My girlfriend runs a CZ 75 BD. I had the sights and trigger done by Matt Mink for her. The trigger is excellent - blows a glock out of the water. Actually, the SA is so light I can't prep the trigger.
  3. Most of the time, a Kimber Ultra CDP Elite that's been bobbed and worked over until about the only thing Kimber is the slide and frame. When a full sized 1911 is appropriate, a Fusion Pro Series I35-X.
  4. Thanks to all the great squads that came through. I enjoyed being an RO for the 1st time, even with the mud & rain. I'll be back for sure!
  5. SPO1 unmodified is overweight for SSP. P226ST was made overweight for SSP by the last rulebook revision. Some P220ST, depending on grip & mag choice are, over weight for CDP. Most of the X5, Elites, Match, etc. with stainless frames and that will fit in the box are over weight, but close enough that if the last rules revision did not add the "with mag" they would make it.
  6. What prompts you to "try to add speed"? be Nothing prompts me during the draw other than a conscious effort to reduce my draw time. I'm using Steve Anderson's book, which recommends you do sets - i.e. 10 warm ups, 10 at your normal par, and then try to do a set below par. As I try to do the last sub par set, my grip pressure tends to go from neutral and floating, towards the white knuckle death grip. In general, what's prompting me to try and add speed is I've noticed a lull in my overall improvement and a bit of burnout. I'm trying new drills and experimenting with different things - i.e. steel matches, USPSA matches, etc. (I've shot IDPA for years). I want to see if with enough reps I can make myself a bit speed blind, which will hopefully let me see what I need to faster.
  7. I've been working on my grip pressure lately. I've noticed, even in dry fire, as I try to add speed my grip and trigger press pressure increases. This causes results similar to a trigger slap during live fire. Any tips/trick on how to condition a lighter trigger and grip pressure while adding speed?
  8. I'm trying to download the registration .pdf and the link is not working. Any suggestions? Thanks.
