  1. The gun has 2,917 rounds on it. What is a PT safety? Are they easy to install?
  2. Update: Gun ejects fine. Now new problem. Plagued with getting failures to feed that look like this: What would cause this? Having the gun perfectly clean seems to mitigate the problem somewhat, but after 2 to 3 stages it jams up like this. It doesn't seems to be isolated to a particular magazine either. Feed lips are all measured in spec. Using Aftec extractor with both springs. Stock STI ejector. Using Precision Delta 124gr HP's. 1.16 OAL. 6.8gr Autocomp. Feed ramp is highly polished but a little sharp on the edges. Ideas? Thanks.
  3. What do you mean by performance? Just a heavier pull weight?
  4. Just an update: Installed a 90 degree mount and, as many of you said, no more FTE jams. YAY! (I'm really liking how low the dot is with this mount too!) Weird thing is about 1 out of every 4 rounds will eject directly back and hit me square in the forehead. I'm using a 7# recoil spring, maybe I should try an 8# spring? My 125gr loads are running right at 1361fps. Thanks.
  5. I am using all brand new MBX magazines, so the magazines are not the cause. Thank you for the suggestion though.
  6. Removing the optic it's easy to see where the brass was impacting the Cmore & mount: Gun ran flawless without the optic on it (as many of you stated). Brass ejection pattern was all over the place. Straight back, then perpendicular to the gun, then sometimes arcing high, sometimes no arc... no discernible pattern.
  7. Currently because of cost. I can find a 90 degree mount for around $70 and be up & running (or so I hope). An RTS2 with the mount would be ~$450. This gun is doing nothing but draining the bank (and I'd rather be putting $ into ammo).
  8. I've heard that the plastic Cmores on a 90 degree mount have trouble holding zero and that the Cmore company doesn't recommend mounting them that way. Is there any truth to this?
  9. Just an update from my original post... Four months later after a world class gunsmith tried to fix it: -Aftec extractor was installed and tuned. -Ejector filed and tuned. -Found the chamber was out of spec and not machined properly, so he reamed it out to proper dimensions. Result? Nothing but FTE jams. Can't make it through a single magazine without this:
  10. Regarding the 9mm trigger: I have found that the standard .223 carrier is "thicker" than the 9mm carrier. Why on God's green Earth would they make 9mm bolts thinner is beyond me. TACCOM is one of the only companies that make their 9mm bolt as thick as the .223 bolt. Thus, you are able to use ANY trigger that works in your .223 without issue.
  11. 1. 14.5" JP Stainless barrel with JP Pinned Comp. JP 9MM Bolt, JP SCS, Odinworks upper, Elfman match trigger, Vltor stock, QC10 lower. 2. 124gr Xtreme round nose. 3. 3.6gr Titegroup. 4. Federal small magnum primers. 5. 1.13" 6. Terrible. Not reliable at all. 7. Not bad under 50yds. At 100 yds terrible. 8. Average recoil. Pretty bouncy actually.(My .223 is WAY smoother). 9. Average split times. Nothing special. 10. Dot jumps a good bit. Been trying to get this JP stuff to run for a year (about 2000+ rounds so far) with spotty luck. Swapping out the JP bolt with a TACCOM bolt in the hopes I can get the trigger to reset reliably. Have a ton of shots where the trigger does reset but goes "click" and doesn't fire. No mark on the primer afterwards either. Wish I could go back in time and have chosen something else.
  12. I retract my last post. Using JP barrel, bolt and SCS with a QC10 glock lower (with its floppy ejector) has been an absolute nightmare. Been trying to get it to run consistently coming up on a year now. FTF's, tons of FTE's, double feeds, trigger not resetting, anything goes. 1300+ rounds down the barrel and every time I think I'm close to solving it's issues, it jams and costs me the match. Soooo jealous of others PCC's that actually run. :-( Just a warning to others who may be considering this combo.
  13. Update on this problem: -I have found that when I use factory Atlanta Arms 147gr 9mm Major ammo the gun runs 100% (which made me happy). -Reading all your posts I believe my problem exists because of my reloads using inconsistent mixed brass, or me just loading to low of a power factor. -I'm going to have an Aftec extractor professionally tuned and fitted (and my ejector tuned). Thanks for all the info!
  14. I'm at 482 rounds down the pipe right now. From the responses it looks like I should feel lucky this gun runs major reliably.
  15. Brand new STI DVC Open (9mm Major) gun and I'm having trouble developing a reliable load. Mags used are new MBX's. Used Atlanta Arms 147gr 9mm Major Load and gun ran fine. Trying to develop a load that will run at 9mm minor levels (for steel matches and such). Tried this 153 power factor load (1229fps): -124gr Blue Bullet -6.0gr of AutoComp -Federal Primer -1.16OAL This load with a 7lb recoil spring ended up with the jams you see in the pictures (about 2 malfunctions in 43 rounds). I pumped up the powder to 6.3gr AutoComp and it ran fine with an 8lb recoil spring, but malfunctioned with a 7lb spring. How can I get this thing to run with lighter loads? Do I need an even lighter spring? Or am I stuck shooting full power loads in this gun to get it to run right? Thanks.
  16. I have a DVC Open gun as well. What loads are people using with a 125gr RN Blue Bullet and AutoComp powder?
  17. I'm using a: -QC10 Glock lower. -JP Bolt. -JP 9mm barrel. -JP SCS buffer. -Vltor buffer tube and stock. -Odinworks Upper. Had ejection problems. -Took out ejector, polished it as smooth as I could, then hit it with a hammer so it was closer to bolt. -Also, case gauged my 9mm rounds in an EGW 38 Super Chamber Checker (surprised me how many rnds failed the gauge). That did the trick for me and have not had a problem since.
  18. I have no known good 9mm mags to test. Mag tuning is yielding no results for me. Its probably the gun and not the mags anyways. So much for trying to buy quality stuff the first time. Everything that could go wrong with this gun is going wrong. Even the C-more doesn't work right! It doesn't even come close to being as bright as my other C-mores. It's brightest setting is only about 60% of my normal C-mores. Sent message to STI days ago and have heard nothing. I was psyched to get this gun but things could not be going worse. Only choice now is to pour money into a gunsmith to get this $3600 paperweight working. Soooo disappointed....
  19. The hard to seat part is an issue for me. They are difficult to load with one round or even no rounds!
  20. Brand new 9mm STI DVC Open gun right out of the box. Five brand new MBX mags. Fresh case of Atlanta Arms 147gr major ammo. Mags are very hard to seat, two of the five mags feed (the ones that don't can't even feed the first round), and none of them drop free. Jam-o-matic. Yay me...
  21. Registration is now open for ORGC's WARRIOR Shoot being held on October 22nd 2016 in Ontario, NY. This 3 Gun based match is held in the spirit of West Point's Combat Weapons Team Andy Houghton Memorial multi gun match. As the military theme suggests, there will be mild physical challenges on each stage. You could be crawling through a tunnel, climbing a ladder, shooting from an elevated position or dragging your buddy to safety during the stage. This will be a 5 stage match which will include one 3GN classifier stage. This is a single full day match (Saturday only rain or shine). Maximum of 50 shooters (32 spots left). The stages and round counts are posted in this thread as well as on the match website HERE. All 3GN divisions recognized. Registration is $50 and can be found on Practiscore HERE. Thank you. Round Counts: Rifle – 80 Pistol – 58 Shotgun – 36 Slugs – 2
  22. They replied with a solution: "This is a known issue and we're working on a fix. In the process of adding the bypass for payment the ability for MDs to manually add a shooter is broken. What is happening behind the scenes is the page has some code that wants payment information. Until we get the fix live the way around this is to set the Waive Fee password on the Edit match page. After you add a password, save the changes then navigate to the URL it shows. This will allow you to add a shooter without payment." Worked as advertised.
  23. Thanks for the email! I just sent a request for help. I am using Practiscore online. I'm trying to add/register a shooter manually to an existing event. I tried different web browsers and different computers altogether but same error results.
