  1. Sorry for the long lay off. We had a loss in our family and had to attend to that. I shot both guns and they both shoot 100 percent factory or reloads. I finally shot my first match today with the fletcher revolver. I was a little rusty on the first stage but it was still fun. Practicing my reloads really paid off. I watched all the semis go before me and then I thought I had forgotten how to do a revo reload but when the buzzer went off, it all came back to me. Here's the link to my first revo stage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulxGYtPGcOQ
  2. Update: Wrong day and too late. It wasn't an open day at the range. They had a steel match and were just finishing putting everything away when I got there. The guys got to check my 625s out and Ray said the timing on both guns were good. The trigger pulls on both guns were more than his 625 but I think maybe that is good. He said a lighter trigger pull would mean a lighter hammer strike on the primer and federals are hard to find right now. He said my rounds need to be loaded hotter because of all the gas that leaks from the cylinder to barrel connection. That was something I didn't know but it makes sense. It will be shoot and chrono time again. Found out there is at least one other guy shooting 38 specials but he's usning speed loaders. He may want to convert to moon clips when he sees how much easier the reloads are. Soon my rig will be complete. I'm counting on my two cr speed holsters to come in tomorrow. Are you guys having a hard time getting federal primers?
  3. Well tomorrow's the big day. I get to see how both my new 625s shoot. Hope I'm not disappointed I'm taking some winchester factory rounds and some reloads. I'm only going to let Ray shoot it and no one else. I don't care how much they beg me. If I can't shoot my 625s, then they can't either. I really just want to make sure they shoot good. Function fire. oh yea, if my son wants to shoot, I will let him. I hate that I can't shoot yet;(
  4. Ok. Sorry for the delay. A minor setback in my health but I'm rebounding nicely now. The Fletcher gun has a tighter, smoother, trigger pull. And both pull about the same pounds. Both guys said around 9 pounds. I can't argue with that. Both guns feel good when dry firing. Further comparison will be on the merits of the gun itself and not a comparison of Fletcher vs Wessinger. The fletcher gun with the bevelled charge holes does make it easier to reload and therefore just a fraction of second faster. The fletcher gun is tighter and smoother all the way around but the Wessinger has so much character in it's finish and overall impression. The fletcher gun looks pimped with it's raised flourescent green front sight and it's silvery finish. The wessinger has a tarnished silvery finish which shows it's age but in a good way like aged fine wine. The fletcher has a four inch barrel which give it a feel of a young whipper snapper. The wessinger has a five inch barrel which says, you may be a little faster than me but I can shoot a flea off of a mouse. lol. Before it starts getting too deep, I'll end the comparison here. I just taught my son how to do a reload on revo tonight and he has it down about 75 percent. The rest is just fine tuning. He thinks he can really beat me. He's got some nerve. I would be pleasantly surprised if he does though. Maybe my wish will come true. It's looking good;) Live fire comparison this Sunday if all goes well. Still not allowed to shoot yet.
  5. Thanks Wanderer. That's all I needed to know. Have a great day Ken
  6. http://speedshooter.com/product_detail.cfm?ID=CRSPREV Thanks in Advance... Ken
  7. And what is wrong with the mexicans? A politically correct statement would be "a knock off Rolex". By the way I use North Mountain Moon Clip Holders and customer service is number 1. Dean Gomez One of my best friends from college, Gary Avila, was a great guy. He took me down to Talahasee, FL to visit his grandparents over Christmas break. That ment a lot to me, being so far from home and all. I miss him. Haven't seen or heard from him in over 30 years.
  8. Not much chance of me leaving this rock any time soon or ever again for that matter. Well maybe Oahu because that is where our state match is held every other year. And the island of Kauai because I have never been there. I went to school in the east coast and visited my sister and brother in law in Montana and Boise, Idaho. And my college friend invited me to watch the cowboys in a playoff game in Houston. My reality is that I will probably be shooting on this rock(Maui) or the main rock(Oahu) and that's it. I really don't like the, "Hey don't be his friend because we don't like him, and if you are going to be his friend then you can't be friends with us" mentality. Life is too short. I'm 54 and this body of mine seems to betraying me. Almost broke my neck twice bodyboarding at Makena(Big Beach)here on Maui. When I played football in highschool, I almost broke my back when I got caught in a bad position making a takle and it seemed like the whole team was on top of me.
  9. I understand the situation. It sounds very sensitive indeed. I had no idea it was like that. I said what I said in all honesty. I tend to treat people the way they treat me. But sometimes things like this happen. If it is a legal issue of a patent being infringed upon then action should be taken. I really would rather not get involved in disputes like these but at the same time I don't take kindly to people who try to pressure me as to what I should or should not do either. In the end we all have to live our lives the best we can until we die. We need to pick and chose what battles are worth fighting for. I like the product. I explained why. No one else needs to like it if they don't want to. I respect what others say and hope they will respect what I have to say as well. When I post, no one needs to respond. I am thankful to those who do. I really like being around others who like revolvers because I feel revolver shooters are like a brotherhood. We all get it. I have come full circle. Shot limited minor with my hk usp 9mm, then to 1911 .45acp, then to .38super comp racegun, then to production with the same hk usp 9mm(It has a decocker, so I can shoot the first round in double action), and then finally revolver. My only regret is that I didn't start revolver sooner. My son has the opportunity to accept the challenge of shooting revo. He's the type to excel if he really wants to do it. If he shoots revo, at least I'll have him to talk revo to in person. Air rifle is his thing now but the season just ended. I'll be getting a competion legal air rifle soon. Wow I kinda went all over the place with that one. Peace all. Ken out. I still can't shoot;( dang, dang, dang!
  10. Comes down to personal preferance I guess. If the the ones you guys are suggesting are legal, I'm deducting that the ones I want to get are too. Thanks for your input. It's all good;) Ken I just decided I want to get higher end equipment. Equipment that I will like and not put me at a disadvantage if any against other shooters. The key to me getting the ones from revolversupply.com is that I tried his moon clip holder first hand. And for me there is not guess work involved. I know exactly how it works and I like it and am happy with it. He took a chance by giving me one to try out and for this one time, it will pay off for him. Nothing like trying something out first hand. And I really worked it good throughout the day, thinking, practicing, and reseaching other products and checking out their prices too. My question was anwered. Thank you again.
  11. If everything goes as planned, my gun comes home with me tomorrow! Yahooo! I'll finally be able to do a side by side review. Hope to include video of guns being shot(but not by me;( ) and a short interview by the shooter if he's not too shy. He's never shy when he's shooting though. stop end cyas later. Ken
  12. I just want to make sure before purchasing five more of these, and I don't want to pay money for something I can't use for uspsa competition. I was sent one for free to do a product review on and I got to keep it. It's too bad but I'm not sure I would be getting this had I not tried it out for myself and it is exactly what I am very comfortable with. Because it's only a two post holder, I can move it any where along my belt, front, side, or back. The design is simple and fast and easy. I can load the holders or pull clips off without looking. I used to line up my mags when I shot production from the side to my back, so thats how I plan on lining up these units on my belt. That means six times twelve equals 72 rounds. No doubt enough rounds for any stage and allowing for misses and strategic reloads. When I am convinced this is 100% uspsa legal, I'm ordering. There may be other systems out there but I feel very comfident that this product will keep me in competition with all of them. And the last reason I love this product. It feels so comfortable for me and fun especially now that I have swithed to the weak hand reload technique. The motion of pulling semi auto mags and now moon clips it just about the same. I just did a product review but I am really only interested in one thing right now. Is it uspsa legal? tia Ken the revo enthusiat even though he hasn't shot one uspsa match in revo yet. God help me. I can't shoot yet;( oh yea and here is the link. http://www.revolversupply.com/documents/moon_clip_holders.html
  13. I'm all over this one. I already emailed him. The best one I have seen so far. Simple, easy, and fast. Looks like a great product.
  14. Time for some chit chat until Monday when I bring my bb(fletcher gun) home. Do all of yall have bevelled charge holes? So that the rounds go in easier? I never had bevelled charge holes so I have no idea. I do know that without bevelled, the rounds have to line up in the charge holes, then it just drops in. The charge holes are not self guiding if you know what i mean. Did I tell you guys my 14 yo son may shoot revolver with me? That would be awesome! And I want to shoot air rifle with him. He's on the high school riflery team. He got top shooter for his school at the MIL tournament, and he's just a freshman. He likes to talk air rifle so I may as well shoot to so I can better relate to all the things he tells me. Precision rifle is like golf to me. I really don't like golf but since it's still a shooting sport, I think I can grow to like it. Every little thing counts in precision rifle unlike ipsc or the like, it's prett much run and gun, most of the time anyways. I'm really looking forward to doing a side by side comparison with both my 625s. I think that is the only way to get good info. later out;)
  15. Fletcher Gun came and I went to check it out for a bit. Looks like it's brand new. Clean and tight. First thing I checked for was the bevelled charge holes. Got to get my 5 inch 625 Wessinger done like that. Pulled the trigger a few times and right away it felt harder than my Wessinger but the trigger pull was smooth. I'll have to do a side by side to get more comparitive info. The gun looks great. Nice front sight. Green fiber optics, nice. Feel of gun in hand, nice. I will not look at the gun again until I go back to pick it up. Sounds like there won't be very many revo shooters in our states uspsa match this year. I heard of only one other revo shooter from Oahu. I'm going to ask that they put us in the same squad. At least then we can talk revo. If I can get in a good months training with revo, I feel like I can shoot the state match pretty comfortably and have fun.
  16. My ffl was so busy he didn't call me so by the time I got to calling him, it was too late. He said he has my gun and I can come see it any time. So tomorrow for sure. I'll be looking for the bevelled charge holes. Now I can see the advantage to having those. Other wise for me anyways, the rounds have to be lined up pretty good, then they go in fast and easy.
  17. Anyone know of a good contraption for loading the rounds to the moon clips? It's a bit of a pain that I could live without.
  18. I have 140 moon clips. 100 from revolversupply.com and 40 of those polymer renz ones. Can't have too many moon clips as far as I am concerned.
  19. First time I ever heard of .45 gap. Did a quick research. Interesting. I'll stick with .45acp
  20. revolversupply.com has moon clips for a great price. I got a hundred for $40 and they work great. Now I know about the polymer renz. You gotta work that baby in. Ok for a day at the range shooting target practice but horrible for a quick reload. I'm starting to get the urge for clip holders now;)
  21. Ok no more chit chat. My 625 is supposed to come to maui tomorrow! I was just trying to keep from going crazy waiting for my gun to come. Tomorrow's the day bb!
  22. Yes that is true about the trigger pull. When you go back to you trigger job rev, it does feel off because it's so much easier. But after dry firing your trigger job rev for a while, it starts to feel right again. I would think having identical grips would be more of an issue. Can I ask a noob question here plz. Both my 625s have bobbed hammers and only shoot in double action. The bobbed hammers look like they have the firing pins attached to them. So there would be more a more positive contact with the primers? No transfer, just a direct hit to the primer?
  23. Very nice collection. Thanks for sharing. I love smiths too. I thought I had my mind set on getting another smith models 325 night guard but may get a .357 instead. I'm just exploring right now? Ther 325 is way up there in price and i'm no quite so sure of the reviews. Would rather get something that has already proven itself. ONe review had some negatives on the 646. Said that is why they were only produced for a year. Have yours been shooting good?
  24. Another pic of the 325 night guard
  25. Hey bro. We did really good. 30th out of 90 shooter? In my books, that's good. I said "We" cause you said you would shoot for me. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that vid. Great editing too. How did your trigger job feel shooting? Bet it felt nice. What's esr? Extra Super Revolver? lol. Reloads look good too. Sounds like you had a few misses. My feeling on that is, as long as I got at least one hit on the target, I feel alright. Not good but alright. The white targets are taboo for me. I don't ever want to hit those as they represent the good guys. How is your single action trigger pull? With a 7.5 trigger pull in da, sa must be even sweeter. I have already decided on getting the 325 NightGuard for my next gun. It just feels like the right thing to do in my gut.
