Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Did I ever say, "thanks"? I hope so. I want a multi-purpose work bench and JStern's concept (beveled inserts) seems to work. I plan on attaching a vice, re-loader, power tools, etc. The one I was originally thinking about had a slot to slide an insert in (not angled like JSterns).Do you think my concept would work? I am looking for a similar design that I think I saw here.
  2. Nice, I see the angle iron. Was this a kit or did you find the table and add the angle iron to come up with the height? Thank you! I built it myself from scratch. It consists of 50x50mm iron section tubes, welded together in cubic shape. This forms the upper part. To facilitate adjustment of height, the four legs have a series of holes each. Depending on which set of holes is used, the bench can be set to a certain height, with a minimum increment of 15mm. There is an additional tube in the top/middle to add stability to the wooden plate (27mm, spruce, 3-layer-plywood, clear varnish). Another plate was fitted in the bottom to put in things for storage. I added a metal drawer cabinet for tools, small accessory parts, etc. The whole construction was finally zinc coated. I don't know the total weight of the construction. However, I can't move it all alone. Initially I intended to bolt it to the wall and floor, but it seems to provide sufficient stability without that. (Boy! This technical english is a real challenge :-) Any corrections welcome) OK, I detect an engineering or metal fabricator type. You obviously have a lot of experience in that arena.

  4. Dude, that is awesome. I have seen some really amazing rooms here and some that I really drool over but the ingenuity and simplicity of your solution is brilliant. You threw it in my face that I don't have an excuse and I appreciate that. One question, when you say "project board" do you mean MDF? I would like some more pictures of the details. Thanks, John
  5. Nice job. Did you go from a set of plans or did you design it yourself? Either way do you know where I might get them? Am I correct to assume that the 4 pullouts are where you attach your reloading bases and you store 2 down below? Thanks, John
  6. Thanks to you too. I made the NRMA bench about 20 years ago but sold it or my ex-wife gave it away. It was very solid. Are these benches sturdy or do you anchor them to the wall for extra stability?
  7. I'm curious. I saw somewhere on this forum (I thought) plans from NRMA (National Reloading Manufacturers Assoc (I think). In June I mailed a $5 check for the plans and the envelope was returned because they were no longer in business or something like that. Did NRMA go defunct? Does anyone have the full scale plans?
  8. OK, I give, what is a "KISS feeder on the 650". I see the contraption but...what is it, what does it do, how much and where, and do you still like it?? It takes a chunk out of your wallet but gives you more free time. Its a bullet feeder that works great, and is well worth the price. Short of doing a Google search (which is how I found this forum), can you answer the other questions (cost and place to buy)? Thanks.
  9. Ok, here's an update: First and foremost: For those of you who felt that my space was a bit too "clean", I have dirtied it up a bit. And my latest addition is a KISS feeder on the 650. Wow! This thing is amazing! After setting it up tonight I was able to load 100 rounds in less than five minutes! -Chet OK, I give, what is a "KISS feeder on the 650". I see the contraption but...what is it, what does it do, how much and where, and do you still like it??
