  1. Second on the butcher block or a solid door. I used a piece of bowling alley with 4x4 legs and a thick shelf on the bottom for stability. WHATEVER you do make sure it doesn't move and is level. Your 1050 will thank you.. Have fun.
  2. soak ot in Kroll oil, Blaster or liquis wrench. Strap wrench works or a set of channel locks with a rag or tape to keep from scratching it up. Work it back and forth----- she'll come off. I had exactly the same problem. When you do get it off and you will really clean threads with something like a brass brush.
  3. Broke mine on my 1050, not sure how, Dillon sent a new one, no questions asked.
  4. Lots of light, get a good angle to look at the station-- I actually got a taller stool to sit on and it made a big difference. Concentration is the key.
  5. Had similar problem, put weight on the primer rod, problem went away. I used a empty 45acp case and a 230 grn lead bullet. reamed the empty pocket so it fit on the rod.
  6. I agree with the above, should be bolted down and bench should be solid. Just my opinion but I believe the bench as well as the machine should be level. Jim
  7. Is there any difference between the black powder bar and the silver? I have both (large) and am wondering if one or the other is an upgrade. Thanks in advance Jim
  8. I bought the Giarud tool that adapts to a drill. I made a sleeve so it fits on a electric motor I had. I made an adapter so it sits perpendicular in my vise. IMO it works better for me. I wear a pair of rubber nibbed gloves and after a learning curve I can process shells with both hands. It works great and I would definitely recommend trimming chamfering and deburring with the Giarud.
  9. I used a 6ft piece of bowling alley with 4x4 notched legs and 3/4 in. shelf on bottom. I believe the remedy to some the reloading issues we have primer flips, powder spills can be directed to not having a Rock Solid and absolutely Level bench. IMO. Jim
  10. Going to load 223 on my 550b. Need help with a menu for processing. I will decrimp with dillon swager, I also have single stage if needed. Just lookig for a efficient way of processing. Thanks in advance, Jim
  11. I do have a spolar hydraulic system, had it hooked up to my PW, worked great. Now I'm wondering if it work with a 1050. Will Dixie today. Sold my shotgun equipment, Just curious if anyone may have a 1050 or a 650 for sale. Thanks Jim
  12. Anyone know if spolar hrydraulics will work on a 1050. Spolar makes a high end shotgun reloader and use their own dydraulics system. Just wondering if anyone has tried it on a 1050. Seems that it may work. Thanks Jim
  13. Problem solved!!! I took gun completely apart ( I mean everything) found a small lead shaving next to spring in trigger group, in fact it looked almost part of the spring. I'm assuming in bind up when I pulled the trigger and actually move in and out which resulted in the inconsistency. Also talked to people who 41's and they they need oil. thanks Jim
  14. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JIM
  15. While at the range shooting my S@W 41, the weight of the trigger pull must have tripled for no reason. It seemed if I took my finger off the trigger completely it would go back to normal. the gun was cleaned before and it started right away. Would it have anything to do with a magazine? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jim
  16. I'm sure this has been asked before-- anyone know how to clean the plastic on the powder hoppers? Thanks Jim
