  1. Just saw the topic concerning the same thing. Will start over and adhere to those instructions. Hopefully will take care of problem. Will get back. Jim
  2. As the topic says-- Primers are not dropping, I've tried weight on the primer rod, Cleaned whole system, tubes etc. . the only way it seems to work is if I raise the handle slowly- then the primer bar will pick a primer. could there be some adjustment I'm missing. Thanks in advance. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Jim
  3. A 550 is a must no matter how many others you have. I use mine especially for setting new loads, short runs and used as a single stage press--very handy. I know 2600 bullseye shooters and the 550 is all they use. Great statement for a press by accuracy fanatics. Jim
  4. Are any of you changing your powder measure baffle to a different brand with any success with consistent drops. What brands and where are you locating them. I read some are changing locations height wise. Thanks in advance Jim
  5. Clean primer tube, bench level and secure ---no movement. Jim
  6. There's a reason boxes are marked large pistol and large rifle.
  7. Just put the redding mic seating die on my 1050. The redding die is shaving brass, the dillon die did not. Anyone have this issue? Thanks in advance Jim
  8. What entities are you shooting? What make of shotgun?
  9. Agree with Joe 4D--- Leave powder in my hoppers and have never had a problem. Jim
  10. I shoot mainly 1911 in 45 acp, I shoot at a range twice a week for practice. My range guns as I call them are loaded with light loads as I don't like beating the crap out them. I probanly shoot 200-250 rds a week. I put lighter main springs and recoil springs so these guns function and it does take alittle work. I made a spring tester a and you would be surprised what a difference it makes as I do like using different loads and bullets. My self defense guns are pretty much std. spring tensions. Jim
  11. I have a 550 and a 1050, best of both worlds. I use the 550 as a single stage for test loads and to to reload calibers I don't need mass #'s. The 1050 for its numbers, swaging and primer depth. I wouldn't get rid of either and I would buy both again. Jim
  12. I use Federal Primers and seat them .006 deep. I have 100% ingnition in my lightened trigger 625. I keep it the same for all my 1911's, no issues. Jim
  13. There's a product called "add a comb" which is elastic with spacers you can add. Alsoyou can buy spacers for length. I did this when I first bought mine, got a good fit l after trying different sizes. Helped a lot when I had a new stock fitted. Just my 2 cents. Have fun.
  14. I'm in the process of using 244, 200 grn. bayou coated bullets and fed primers in my 1911"s. I shoot lighter loads, I don;t like beating up my 45's and I shoot twice a week at my local range, so I do burn up some ammo. I've dropped the min. book load quite alot and am using lighter recoil springs. No malfunctions, really clean burning and so far really accurate up to 25 yds. I have not put them in a rest yet as I'm working on function right now. Forgot to add it meters extremely well in my dillons, 550 and 1050. So far so good. It feels like a clean burning bullseye.
  15. All my 1911's, combination formula of Mobil 1 5-30 and a additive similar to STP. Works for me and I shoot them all really wet. Jim
  16. Any of you tried 244 Winchester for 45 acp. coated 200 grn.? Advertised as clean, low recoil, accurate and meters well for low to mid range velocity.. Thanks in advance Jim
  17. Anyone running 3.4 to 3.6 N310 with 200 grn..? Looking for a light range load. Thanks in advance Jim
  18. Swordfish= Thank You for your service!!!!! Jim
  19. Thank you guys for all the help. (not sure about the "not telling gender" guy) Took a set of grips down with a dremel and sanded them smooth. Going in the right direction but I am ordering the hoque big butt, no finger grooves as many of you have recommended. Thanks again Jim
  20. Anyone use the JM wooden grips? Jim
  21. I have second set of monogrips, I will try a dremel or a belt sander and take the finger grooves down. SteelCityshooter you are right, almost makes the 625 no fun to shoot. Thanks for the input jim
  22. Started shooting alot of double action only on my 625, have set of hoque grips. My middle finger is just plain sore from shooting. I'm using a light target load. I've tried differnt holds- no difference. Before I start buying and trying different grips. Have any of you had this issue and what did you do yo solve it? Thanks in advance. Jim
  23. The way bench is set up I can sit or stand, also can raise my legs while sitting to take pressure off my lower back. Jim
  24. Works perfectly! One of the best upgrades on my 1050 so far. Thanks Jim
