  1. Rules state that you can mill the slide as long as you don't go all the way through it. No lightening holes.
  2. That's probably what covers it. I must have missed that when reading through them.
  3. So this is what happens when you lose your mind. I just searched my email and realized I had already asked this question last year. Troy said It was legal to do so. Nothing to see here. Move along, sorry for the clutter Yes, that's allowed.Troy On 3/7/2016 10:13 PM, Ammowaster wrote:
  4. Damn it man you're supposed to know this stuff I guess I will put one together if nobody else knows the answer soon.
  5. Figure I would jump in here rather than start a new thread. I am confused as to whether it is legal to relocate the rear sight in front of the optic. Many of the companies installing optics offer this as a service and I can't tell if it is legal or not.
  6. they are fully covered so are probably plated but they just look a little different
  7. Going through a bunch of my sisters old 38 super stuff and there are several boxes of these 151 round nose bullets. I have a ton of tite group and was thinking of making these into a plinking/steel load. Anyone know where I should start or have any problems with the idea? I though about saving them for supressed shooting but since I dont know much about the bullets I think I will just use them up. I was also wondering if there is a easy way to tell if they are plated as opposed to jacketed? Thank you in advance
  8. Dont have any of the paperwork and have never really played with these holsters so I wanted to make sure I am on the right track. As far as the trigger area the only way it seems to fit is with no spacers whatsoever however it leaves a little play. Still seems to lock in but I dont know how tight it is supposed to be. Any tips or tricks I need to know about this thing? I run all my other guns out of DOH kydex so this is pretty high speed for me.
  9. Most of the higher end guns are fit by hand. Basically every piece is fit together where factory guns are built a little more quickly so not always as much attention to detail. I have seen a lot of STI's that needed minor tuning to run 100% and that is what the custom guys are doing. If your gun runs leave it alone. If you are a new shooter focus on your technique before messing with the gun
  10. That is my philosophy as well. Life is too short to spend it at the reloading bench
  11. So I ended up at 3.7grs of Titegroup and it ran the gun fine. Havent had a chance to see if it groups or where the POI is but my main concern was gun function. I am going to load another 500 or so for this weekend and run with it. Down the road when I have some more time I will look for those "perfect' loads but for now Tite Group is satisfying my needs. Its good to be a cheap lazy ass sometimes
  12. Titegroup's burn rate is not affected by its position within the case so, if this is the powder you are going to be using, then 'no', you don't need to worry about the OAL making a difference. On a separate note, it would be a lot easier to just leave the same powder charge that you are using right now but replace the bullet used with one of a lighter weight. Nothing to change in your reloading setup except the bullet being used. This is what many folks do for Steel Challenge. I thought about that but right now all I have is a case of 180's. The plan in the long run is to get my X6 going and shoot 9mm for steel and leave the Edge for USPSA. See, I do the opposite. I leave everything else the same and just back the powder down. Same OAL, same bullet. So easy a caveman can do it. That was my train of though I just wanted to make sure I wasnt going to mess it up. I can break an anvil. Thanks for all the help guys
  13. Does my overall length change anything or should I not worry about it?? I know it lowers pressure but wasnt sure if it would create a problem with a real light load @1.2 OAL There is no power factor for the steel I am shooting. It is just man on man so all that matters is that the plate falls down.
  14. Right now I am shooting 180gr black bullet with 4.4gr of Titegroup loaded to 1.2" I have a steel match coming up and want a soft load. How do I know the minimum amount of powder I can safely use. I was thinking of bumping it down to 4.0 or a little lower but want to make sure I stay safe.
  15. It has been a while since I loaded for production but I was at 4.3-4.4 grains of Titegroup with a MG124CMJ in my 226. It just always ran a little slow. Buddy uses 4.1-4.2 in his SP01 and makes it easy
