C-more is the gold standard? It was the only standard, unless you wanted a Tasco or Aimpoint tube. The adjustments were terrible. And any company can make mistakes - 4 times? If you don't hire electrical engineers, I guess.
  2. I have two - one of which broke during a flown-to 3 gun match. I sent them both back and they have been repaired. They work perfectly so far. I will put them on my pistol in another month.
  3. I use whatever my gf has laying around - hopefully it is not the water based stuff....
  4. I've cut one open - it is 7/8 oz - and it is exactly the same slug as the Fiocchi's 7/8 ow...
  5. I have holsters made by Doug - like everyone else previously mentioned, the quality is excellent, it fits well, the draw is smooth and consistent. He has been shooting competitively for a long time, and knows what competitors are looking for. One of the best made....
  6. You don't like carrying 3 guns on a stage? Play golf - get a caddie....
  7. I have a Fold-A-Cover on my F150, 6 1/2' bed, for the past 5 years - it has been great - no leaks, lockable, - still looks great..
  8. The guys at Old Bridge continually do a great job with matches - the monthly USPSA match, and especially the specialty matches - like the Shotgun Tactical match in August and this 3 Gun match last weekend. They are well run, challenging stages, and good guys to shoot with.
  9. Having shot all three - RM3G, Superstition, and Benning - the JP Rocky Mountain stands out. The job that Denise, JJ, and everyone did at this years match was fantastic, along with natural terrain and shooting conditions, makes this match, to me, incomparable. Thanks again to everyone involved....
  10. Doug's stuff is the best - well made - and he is a competitor and understands what is important.
  11. using a black powder shotgun should be a mandatory requirement
  12. zman, If you haven't noticed this is a sport run by volunteers. there would not be any major matches without volunteers manning them. Believe me I would love to have dedicated tapers and steel setters but the cost would be outrageous. RO's are only reimbursed a portion of their expenses and at a lot of matches not at all. You know this reminds me of a competitor at this past nationals that when I said this was a volunteer sport responded with "I paid USPSA 500.00 to shoot not paint" When I told him that I don't get paid at all, his response was "thats your problem". Its disheartening to hear this when your working from 7:00am to 8:00pm running shooters for six days in the either the hot sun or pouring rain. Thank God its a very small percentage that act this way. The 98% that make up the rest are good people that appreciated our commitment to the sport. As for pre-pasted targets: Rule 9.1.3 Prematurely Patched Targets - If a target is prematurely patched or taped, prior to a Range Official determining the actual score, the Range Officer must order the competitor to reshoot the course of fire. However, if following the scoring of a target by any assigned Range Officer, the target is patched or taped by anyone other than a Range Officer, the score will stand as called regardless of the competitor’s opportunity to see the target in question and the competitor will not be permitted to appeal the score as called. Zman, if you think you can do it better than the rest of us. By all means be our guest, we're always looking for volunteers!!! ~John I had the same experience at the chrono - I do have a different model chrono - but I was at 169 consistently at home, and I checked my loads when I got back , almost exactly the same -169.5.. Yet I was 166 at the Nationals. I guess I don't see how the cost for tapers would be outrageous - 2 people per stage, dedicated - 36 people per day, even at $100 per, that is $10K for one match. 250 paid shooters? $40 per shooter - on top of the $275 fee? Doesn't sound outrageous to me.
  13. I don't understand something - I have talked to people who shoot overseas, and there, they have people who tape targets, and set steel. How much could it be, to hire two people per stage, to do that? $30 additional? It doesn't seem right to have competitors touch targets, and set steel, some of which gets set differently for each competitor. Some RO's say up front that they will set all the steel. Other's don't. I also don't get why on some stages, the last shooter is told he has to set all the steel and paint? Also, is seems as if the match was not advertised locally....Every restaurant that we went in, no one even had a clue that a US Nationals was being held, less than 5 miles away. At one place, my friend struck up a conversation with a guy who noticed our shooting shirts. The next day, he showed up with his two sons and wife. He was interested in shooting with his sons. It seems that it would be a good way to grow the sport.
  14. +1 with Dan - Al's rifles are not piston driven. I have one, well made, shoots under 1 MOA, has a 16" barrel, and is great for all the hoser stages we shoot in multi gun. Points well, light.
