Thanks again to Ken and Crew for taking in the Ozarks crowd.
Big thanks to sponsor like Adams Arms(my new piston AR) and Brownells.
Glad to see all the division and stage sponsors too!
I was only able to see one of the Tooth and Nail Amory guys shoot stage 6 and after that I knew I'd better finish strong or else.
The fog was a major pain Sunday morning. Not to mention the Rain on Sat.
The stages were good. Just a little bit easier than a normal Midwest match. Challenging but not a lot of time outs.
Overall an enjoyable match.

Looks like we're going to go.
Buddy got a hold of Misty and says we're GTG.

Is anyone going to this that was supposed to be moved over from the Ozarks match???
Have you gotten confirmation from Ken Flood that you're in the match????
My Buddy just got a call back this aft saying we're not signed up since he hasn't gotten money yet.

So has anyone who wanted into the Amateur Match @ CMMG gotten confirmation of such being the case.
My Buddy who's handlen this finally got a call back from somebody in the chain(Ken Flood) saying that we're not signed up for the match cuz he hasn't received money from the Ozarks match yet.
It's a couple days before the match starts and we were supposed to leave tomorrow.
What the hell do we do now????

If I'm reading this right you're using STI mags without spacers in 9mm??
They shouldn't work at all that way.
The reason they make the spacers is because the 9mm case is too short to make contact with the front rib in the side of the mag tube.
That's why most people use SVI tubes. They have one big rib in the side and need no spacers.
After about 10-12 rds in a STI tube, the rounds start going sideways.

Special thanks to FNH for the shotgun and HearPro/JP for the side match prize! Big thanks to all the sponsors and vendors that showd up.
Ro's did a great job. Stages were fun!
Only thing that needs improving is the parking lot.

The Black Nitride on the RCA BCA is very hard to get through.
The machining looks VG.

The only thing I have to decide on my Open shotgun is whether or not to put the tecloader chute on.
I could have used it at the Benelli Rockcastle shotgun match but in 2 years now I haven't.

The FFP model has a wider FOV and better glass.
I'm not sure why is has such a small OBJ but it helps out the side dot a little.
It also has a parallax adj so you have to consider that.

Hmmmmm.
The best handguard would be one you don't have to pay for, looks cool, feels better, and wins stages for you!
Don't have one of those yet!

I haven't used the fastfire 3 yet but I thought those were better than the fastfire 2 which had more of an orangish blurry dot?
I am using the 3moa Razor dot without issue.
I also use the C-more Sts with good results.I've heard the Deltapoint was good as well.

Have u tried a DMS? It's like looking thru a straw.
No I haven't but I can imagine how bad it is.
I use whatever people will give me
Now I just need to find a handguard sponsor.....

I hope I can remember this.....
Your problem is most likely exit pupil more than eye relief.
Exit pupil refers to the size of the image coming out at the eye relief distance.
It is the objective diameter divided by the power setting. I.E. 20mm obj / 4x = 5mm exit pupil
IIRC your eye has something like 7mm(dark) to 2mm(bright) pupil diameter.
Soooo if your eye is not centered on the eyepiece within the availlable exit pupil, you will only get a partial image or none at all.
Usually if your eye is centerd but not at proper eye relief you can still get an image.

Cabelas still shows mags in stock for $15
They are worth a try.
The feeding will most likely depend on your lower/upper dimensions.
Nick
-
I know a little bit about this....
The stainless steel and steel mags use thinner wall material which allows for more room inside.
The most room you're going to get though will prob come from the Cammenga brand mags due to their design.
Since they have a front half and rear half, there is no welded seam in the front and rear.
The problem you may run into though will be feeding.
You may have to lower your feed ramps.
If you do buy some Cammengas, make sure you polish the inside of the feed lips due to the finish.

The spring comes off rearward on the YHM QD adapter.
On the threaded end, there is a c-clip, then a wave washer, then then an embossed thick washer that contacts the rear of the suppressor.
Nick
-
I think he was talking about the spring washer that tensions the suppressor.
I have a YHM Wraith 9mm can and I use it mostly on my 22 bolt gun since my YHM mite sucks the big one!
I don't have a 9mm subgun at all so I can't comment on it's effectiveness in that caliber.
I can tell you that for 300 Blk it works OK but accuracy suffers compared to the 30 cal can.
A 3-lug mount might be a better option if YHM says their washer might fail.

@ the CMMG match I had to put in two 223 extractor blue bumper things into a squadmates DPMS 308 before it would reliably extract.
Put one on each side of the extractor spring.
Ran two stages without jamming after mod.
Told him to polish out the chamber as well.
I don't remember the barrel or gas length.

Maybe somebody could put up some real world costs of all 3 options?
IF that is even a factor nowadays....
I know the XRAIL integrated Benelli(26 rds) is around 3K and the XRAIL add-on(23 rds) is around $700..
I don't know how much the mag fed guns are plus the high cap mags you need.

What is the gas port diameter on that Criterion barrel?
Does it have the dimple on the bottom to align the gas block?
If not, you may by able to cut off some gas by moving it foward a measured amount at a time and see what the difference is.
Overgassed Is prob right. Maybe a faster powder than even 4895 would help? Benchmark? 8208?
On one of my 308 bolt carriers I bored a step in the rear so I could drop in a weight.
Lots and lots of force in the 308 system. Seen lots of lug damage with just normal light load use.
I would reccommend a JP enhanced bolt to everyone.

The high rings put the center of the scope 1.26" from top of upper.
Mine are plenty high to put a 1o'clock dot mount underneath the eyepc. Worked great @ CMMG match last weekend!!!
The 1-pc mounts are nice for some things but Aluminum can only do so much being hung out there like that....
Being a full-time machinist and hobby engineer I tend to like heavy strong parts.
I do run the 1-pc offset mounts on my 22 conv and huntin ARs though.

Another big thanks to Ken, Larry, and all the RO's, staff, and military help.
Accuracy was a big factor here.
Stages were not overly complicated or long which kept things moving.
Got to talk with lots of good people.
Good job!
Nick

yeah, 20-24x is enough.
NO need for MOA base on most scopes out to 3-400 yds if barrel is aligned in upper right.
I use the Vortex precision matched rings.
I do not like the forward offset 1 pc ringmounts on a serious rifle - not enough support IMO.
I wouldn't settle for less than a HS Viper. FFP PST would be best Viper model.
There are some high powered scopes for benchrest that may be suitable but I haven't checked into that for some time.

Alliant Power Pro varmit anyone use it?

Tried it.....Max load 25.0 tooo slow w 55 grainers compared to compairable load(even less grains) other powder.
Not enough time to crank it up a few more grains though.
