  1. Who is ready to go? Less then two weeks away. Time to get out and shoot! https://www.facebook.com/thepinshoot/
  2. I also asked about the shootoffs and 2 man teams and got a response they will all be shot with stock gun instead of the old pin guns with comps. So this match is going to be very heavy on the iron sights for everyone.
  3. There is now more information on the website and the early entry has been extended until 4/30. There is now a picture of the pin set on the FAQ page and information on the events page including the shoot offs. Friday – June 16th – Beginning @ 10:00am the $10,000 Cor-Bon Man-on-Man-on-Man Shoot Off – OSS and MB classes $10,000 cash proportionally split between the top 3 winners in each class. I can't wait to be there all week! Time to start some practicing. http://www.pinshoot.com/events/
  4. Anyone know if there will be open practice (Steel Challenge) at the range after the Pro-Am is over for the few days before the Steel Challenge starts?
  5. Does anyone know what's going on with the Steel Challenge World Match and the Pro-Am? A couple of weeks ago the Pro-Am was July 18-21 and then the World Steel Challenge match was the following weekend July 25-28 at the same range. I thought this was perfect as I was going to spend the whole week in Florida however now after the SHOT show the World Steel Challenge is scheduled for July 17-20 on the website. Does anyone have insight as to what is happening? Just curious for scheduling my summer shoot schedule. I hope the Pro-Am gets scheduled for the weekend before, July 11-14 as then I could shoot three matches in three weekends with the Big Dawg Steel Match in Iowa on July 25-28. This could be a very fun July!!
  6. there are only two stages that are marginal the chickens and the tombstones. The tombstones i shoot two shots on plate one and then 1 shot per plate afterwards. If you get good solid hits the tombstones are fine, people unload a whole magazine on the stage and when they are done my times are always faster. The chickens are just random not sure how to explain it. I shoot around 131 pf and I might have to hit one or two again in the course of four runs I think.
  7. Any word on what the stages look like? I did see them posted on either website. Just wondering.
  8. Hope everyone is ready for next weekend. Anyone know if the 22 event will be similar to a PSA stage when shooting pistol or rifle (30-35 targets) and then the combined event would be both stages together (~70 targets)? Just wondering about mags.
  9. Any one know if the application is out yet? I looked on Phil's website and it said 12/1/11 but I didn't see it. I also looked at the other proam website and didn't see it. Just don't want to miss it. I am sure Phil is busy with everything going on now. Just don't want to miss this again.
  10. I wish there was a more centralized Steel Challenge, instead of on one of two coasts. It would be nice to have it in Sparta. Is this a possibility?
  11. Who is ready for some shooting! Leaving tomorrow and the weather actually looks somewhat nice after Thursday. Can't wait to see the stages I am sure they will be interesting...
  12. I would love to go but its so far. If I go you won't see my app until the end of May as I assume alot of other shootings are waiting until the last second to deceide if they are going.
  13. Oh joy...really it does sound fun. I need to get out a practice my reloads a little its been a long winter. Will there be multiple stars on one stage?
  14. How long does this match take to shoot? Just wondering what time it will be wrapped up. I assume there is a match tomorrow?
  15. Just curious but will 9am and 2pm still be the starting times and will the squads be kept at 10 to 12 per squad? Just wondering about time in between morning and afternoon. I have to say I am excited for this year as I have a new open and limited gun to shoot this year.
  16. I understand. I looked on the USSA website but didn't see much. Has any one heard anything else about a buyer for the range?
  17. Does anyone happen to know where the back up range is? Just wondering about traveling and where to for vacation days?
  18. I vote for trying new stages that are not the norm. I perfer knockdown steel and shooting the Pro-AM and the Drazy Steel 500 match, it makes a USPSA stage a lot more fun to me at least because you have to hit all the steel down regardless and you dont have to worry about your hits. Basicly do what your members are interested in. If you have a lot of new shooters though steel challenge is a better starting point due to the limited movement.
  19. Is that right when you log on? Thats a non bushing barrel correct? I need to order my barrel this month so I need to decided soon. Thanks for everyones info keep it coming. I want to get a bigger sampling.
  20. Ok i did some research and really didn't find what I was looking for so I am just going to ask. What are most of the big shooters shooting for a limited steel challenge set up in terms of sti's. My question is 5 or 6 inch guns, bull barrel or bushing barrel, lightened or stock slide. My thought was a 5 inch with lightened slide (9mm) would be the best way to go but I wasnt sure about the barrel. I plan on building from scratch so I can do what ever I want. Gun will only be used for steel challenge and knockdown steel. Thanks.
  21. Thanks for the info. We have a steel master also so that should work good. Does steel challenge have a 120 PF rule? All I see is if you go to a match with the automatic stop plate you should use 120 PF to function the stop.
  22. Is anyone shooting loads below 110 pf with either 88 or 95 grain bullets? I am wanting to build a gun to shoot this PF so I was wondering whoever does shoot this low what there gun weights are in terms of slide and barrel length. Thanks. Greg
  23. Will Circleville be holding any classifier matches or just one stage per month? I would like to get qualified but I never make it to enough matches to do so. Thanks.
