Does anyone have first hand experience of filtered plugs that are not disposables? Specifically don't want to spend big bucks on electronic plugs...$44 for the custom moulds I have felt like a ripoff but they seal out the world. $2 worth of silicone and 10 minutes...that's a moneymaker for sure. Anyway, I'm thinking sure fire filtered but they don't look comfortable.

I did find that I was hanging back a bit...like I was ROing on a retreat course! I'm new to the sport and didn't want to crowd the guy. They have an organized shoot coming up so I'll get a chance to observe... I think I'll try some of the sure fire plugs. They came up in a search for filtered plugs.

So I have a set of custom plugs that have a very high NRR I used for USPSA due to ROing next to open comps. Problem is I was told I was giving shooters late pulls on the skeet field. Well, I pull when I hear it so I figured that I may be not hearing them as well. I switched to my electronic muffs and bingo...no problem. Unfortunately I can't wear them while shooting and get a good mount on the gun. So, without breaking the bank on electronic in ear plugs, is there a decent set that aren't the disposable crap that blocks enough to protect but still hear calls?

I'm going to have to select a special hat to wear...just in case!

I just picked up a 229 Elite Scorpion that I plan on shooting my second time through at our local matches. Wanted something I can keep stock while I keep the Glock 34 for gaming. Just need to figure out a good load for it. I've got 125lrn and 231.

Hold your horses there! Unless you mean they would be scored minor as well, and triggers are required to be 7+ pounds and you must start hammer down....

I have always kind of liked the idea of approving a gun for the division, then having it on a list. When a shooter is purchasing a gun, they can then check the gun against the list to make sure it works for Production. It seems simple and fair to me. BUT...there are guns allowed that are not on the list!Seems simple and fair on paper, but the current state is far from that. A list that is simple would be complete and clear and used at every event. We know that is not happening. Factory shooters with guns not on the list (nor truly available to the US public)..is that fair? I think the fact that it is the manufacturer's responsibility to put new models on the list is what has us in this this current state. Not all manufacturers understand the sales power of having the gun on the list, or know that the list even exists. Like you I like the "idea or intention" of the list. I just wish it worked.

Something needs to be done to clarify the whole list. For Glocks, it seems as though they go by model number only. It's odd that Gen 4's are listed separately, considering there's no definition between Gen 1, 2, nor 3. Then again, depending on when you bought a Gen 4 they started coming with beaver tail grip adapters....then what about FDE or OD Gen 3 or 4 guns. They are not listed but we see them at all levels of competition. You may say that color makes no difference in the eyes of the rules appendix 4, 21.2a, but that's in regards to REFINISHING a gun. Not a factory finish. So then we look at other guns on the list, take Sig for example: the 226 USPSA two tone is listed separate from the black? They list different weights, but not sure if those specs are 100% accurate. Then we see the P226R 34oz, and a P226R two tone 34oz. Beretta section says (Inox versions of approved models allowed) So if we are following the list, green and tan Glocks are not allowed, you must have an original "no gen" glock because gen 2 and 3 aren't on the list. Or a new Gen 4, just has to be black? If this is the case we'd have A LOT of new open shooters! Or we say The base model is GTG, we don't care the color....you know we tacticool guys love fde and od and don't want to be left out. We've got a guy buying a sig 229 elite scorpion. The gun says "P229 Elite"...that's all, does it pass the test...the Elite is on the list and the scorpion is the same gun, different color. Same thing goes for most manufacturers.

This is not a legal USPSA stage. They can hand out any penalty they wish. The full procedure isUpon start signal, turn, then draw and engage T1- T4 with two rounds each, perform a mandatory reload and re-engage T1-T4 with two rounds each WEAK hand. This procedure is used in many classifiers but it always says WEAK HAND ONLY. If the WSB does not stipulate weak hand ONLY can the shots be taken supported? So at the beep U pull out your paper and pencil and start drawing what you see. Why not? That's what the WSB says. Some wear common sense has to take over.. And there's another problem, some people have the common sense of a trash can!! Gamers use uncommon sense. I'd wager many practice law.

Took my wife's car in for an inspection but was failed for the tires (2 years old 15,000 miles) so I took it back to the Firestone since they were under warranty and showed the failed inspection. They said the tires were fine and that they would pass it but I had a bad shock that they had to replace to pass it. (They will find a way to make a buck however they can) it didn't sit right with me, so I waited a couple months and took it back for a alignment and rotation using the platinum package I bought with the tires. I got a call from the same guy who told me the tires were fine 2 months earlier that the tires were all bad and had to be replaced. He gave me the price of $700 and change and I said, look at vehicle history and my warranty. In the end I had to print the small lettered warranty info from Firestone's website and walk it into their store for them to honor it. The warranty was different in the store according to the worker. Still got charged $90 for disposal fees

I bought a Dillon square deal b on here and the seller shipped it in a wooden crate with decent packing. It broke in shipment and after taking photos and going through hell with UPS, I got denied the claim due to inadequate packing. Get this, UPS will only work with the shipper on the claim. The dude never responded to them and I was stuck with a broken press. (I got the parts and fixed it now)

Bull barrels will require a reverse plug, but the rest of the parts are the same.

All those worries go away because you buy a press and loads of components and don't have to rely on factory ammo being in stock and hope to make major/minor PF.

Mechanical accuracy is an outcome of the match of a well fitted gun to well (or consistently) made ammunition. But, the 45 is .095 inches larger than the 9mm so it has more scoring area. Maybe more scoring potential? I'm sure a mathematician and a physicist could find a truthful answer, but in all practicality the accuracy potential is the same if the components used all have the same quality and are built with the same consistency. Now, practical shooting accuracy is more dependent on the shooter, than the gun. Tis' the Indian, not the arrow. (As long as the arrows are not made in China)

So, this is the last question I'd ever want to ask, but when is the last day to pull my app and get a refund? The search for ammo has become a nightmare and I can't find anything in stock in time for the shoot. I anyone knows a commercial reloaded with stock of 45 I've got the money...well, if they have a reasonable price.

Nup, Trojan's frame is cast as well. You have to spend $300 more to get into STI forged frames territory (Lawman) So all sti pistols are not created equal? To me the Trojan and the Spartan were way too similar for the price difference. The front strap on the Trojan is stippled, which is nice, and there may be a slight difference in internals, and I didn't know about the barrel difference. Kinda shocked me to see a plastic MSH on the Trojan. I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a forged frame gun considering the number of rounds mine will see. That's why I looked at a Sentry (basically a forged, checkered Trojan with a steel MSH and magwell) and bought the Lawman (also hate bomars, and liked the slide markings much better). My opinion on the true differences? The slide to frame and barrel/bushing fit of the made in TX guns I've handled are far superior to the Spartans. I still believe the Spartan is the best bang for the buck in the SS .45 for competition arena. If you are looking to spend more, look for a fully forged, all steel gun. STI Lawman, Sentry, DW Valor, or step it up into the Baer or even Wilson range. Baer only if you can afford the time and money required to break the things in. Forget free weights, just rack a Baer slide 100 times a day and you will have Chuck Norris arms.

Won my division for the first time and 6th overall for a best finish. Granted it was the second go around. I need to shoot like this more consistently, well except for smoking a classifier.
