  1. Update-I promptly received a replacement die & body, both of which were nitrided. I've been using it now for several months, and there is no wear noted on either part. My problem with the 9mm sizer is fixed. Great response from Rollsizer (Kevin). YMMV
  2. I just recently bought a manual Rollsizer. Took a chance and figured the issue would have been resolved by now. Apparently not. I did a 1000 cases doing the manual crank and my dies look exactly like the photos in the first post and I'm getting a pronounced bulge at the case/rim junction. Probably a few out there with the issue still. I checked the hardness of both the die and the body and they are at Rc-27.5 to 28.0. Seem kinda soft for what they are trying to accomplish. I contacted Rollsizer with the requested information in their previous post. We'll see .
  3. Unless they have a new offering, Dawson's are only offered for the small frame Glocks.
  4. Yeah, we looked at this kind of change, but weren't convinced it would significantly drive down costs for new shooters - the rifle costs the same (maybe save a few bucks vs. 40-round PMAGs), semi-auto shotguns cost almost as little as pumps these days (Stoeger, Mossberg) and are a more satisfactory long-term investment, and many Limited and Tactical shooters already run inexpensive handguns like the Glock even at the highest levels. Oh, and I agree with Gose... 10 rounds in a pistol is stupid, particularly for new shooters as all it does is force them to perform more fine motor skills on the clock (multiple reloads). With how cheap standard-capacity magazines are these days, I just don't see the need except in the ban states (which are already 3-Gun unfriendly for bigger reasons). The reason for the 10 round limit is to allow those who own lower capacity 1911's and similar guns a way to compete on fairly equal footing. It allows someone to start shooting without even having to buy a new pistol. Its worked well for us up here in Alaska. Same with a pump shotgun. Cheap semis are still not common and most people I know outside of the sport own a pump gun but not a semi auto shotgun. The rifle costs the same but the rifle part was not broken in limited its the expensive shotgun and handguns. Basically limited is tac optics minus the optic. Not much of a difference. Pat !0 round pistol limits in ANY division are stupid, even HM. You're trying to acomodate something that doesn't need addressing. You've got a BOX for chrisakes!
  5. Pat, I just built my 1st 308. What distance do you zero your 308 at with the 155s ?
  6. How did the slidestop solve the problem in extraction? Arent the slidestops for 9 and .40 the same? Its a bit rare that the slidestop affects the extraction. It was a combination feed/extraction/lockback issue. I can only speculate but somehow my combo of parts wouldn't integrate to work. Swapped out parts until it worked. Fortunately, all inexpensive parts I mostly had on hand. My point being, if at first you have issues, it may be something simple, so persevere,it can be fixed
  7. I bought a police trade in G35 as a backup to my G34 (back when I shot a 34). I put in a Storm Lake replacement barrel and I had extraction problems. Changed out the ejector to a 9mm one and still had issues. Ended up changing out the the slide stop and that solved my issues. Now it runs 100%. The slide stop was the problem. As for the barrel, It's great. I use it now as a loaner gun to new shooters. They are impressed I loan them such a neat rig Little do they know how little it cost me to set the rig up.
  8. Multi-gun matches are just where it's at now (AZ). Local outlaw 2 and 3 gun matches are more fun and challenging and they don't have prizes, only bragging rights. I think the 2 gun matches are actually the most popular, and are mostly run on pistol bays, maybe an intermediate rifle stage (100-200 yds). I think it's the "shoot and be safe" no bull$hit rules that is most appealing. JMO
  9. This always kills me Please drop the "realistic EDC". This is just another game. The majority of the country does NOT have 10 round mag limits. If you want a down loaded mag, state it in the stage description. Do you really want another game with "cover garments"? Scoring; if you have -1, and -2 zones, why make them .5? Think how easy scoring could be without a calculator. if your interested in favoring accuracy, just make it time + penalties. JMO
  10. I have to put the lock ring on the bottom, like I must do for many non-dillon dies.
  11. How did you succeed in breaking the primer follower rod? It sits vertically in the primer feed tube a supports it's own weight. The easiest way I found was to have your primer column explode. It will get launched to the ceiling, break the top and the bottom will be melted/accordianed (is that a word?).
  12. Please don't be offended by what I am saying. Get an experienced pistol shooter to shoot your pistol, and verify your sights before you change anything. Shooting low/left may be indicitave of a flaw in your shootin technique. It is very common amongst newer shooters to see this problem. I am still amazed at the number of shooters in classes that have new pistols/sights installed that swear they have a problem but when shot by myself or another experienced shooter, thier sights are dead-on. Just a suggestion. YMMV. Good luck
  13. Just an update to my post #78. I used one of the new steel shell plates also. I checked the wrench I ground down. It wasn't a Craftsman . It was a SEARS brand Final thickness was about 1/8" thick.
  14. Very interesting?! I just finished processing 4000 LC02 cases on my 650. I size on station 1 90%, swaged on 2, and trimmed and final sized on 4 (Dillon RT1200). I figured I was pulling/pushing the handle anyway, I might as well see how the swager worked. I tested mine with a Lee hand primer. They primed like commercial cases (smooth). I did about 15 cases to see if I was set up ok. Mine worked as advertised, better actually than the last 3000 I had processed by a commercial loader on his 1050. What I did notice was, if it wasn't screwed in all the way it would short stroke like yours apparently did. I had to grind an old Craftsman wrench on the bench grinder to be thin enough to screw it in all the way. Bottom line...it worked great for me. Saved me a BUNCH of time. YMMV!
  15. There wasn't any digitals when I started reloading (<$1000). All we had were balance beams. I am 100% digital now. I use a set of calibration weights, but I have found the digital scales to be snot on, so really only check them once or twice a year. You do have to calibrate the digitals though, and I do that whenever I turn it off/on or daily. JMHO.

    G35 to G34?

Must be luck pf the draw. I have a Storm Lake conversion barrel in my 35 w/ 9mm ejector and I have the same experience as Blais1 above, at least one round/magazine or so would FTE. Granted, I haven't had time to fiddle with it. Just be aware that there is a chance it won't just be "Plug and Play" if you change calibers.
  17. Ditto, trim & swage each batch. It doesn't add any time to swage, so I do. Worth it in the log run. DQ
  18. Interesting! How old are everyones MTACs? I started running one in April of this year. I live in Phoenix where its rather warm. Ran a match yesterday and it was 112 deg. Reticle was fine. Not a lot of shade. Black rifle=sun=gloves. Even on the highest setting (10) its not super bright like an Aimpoint or Eotech. ps longest my battery would last when left on continuously is 2 weeks
  19. As you've found out, 3 dot sights are not conducive to accuracy with older eyes. I have found that for the quickest & most accurate pistol shooting, A plain black front and a plain black rear work best. For your AR, get a red dot. Either an Aimpoint or an Eotech if you don't have an astigmatism.
  20. What shortage? There's plenty of 50 BMG and 20MM to go around!
  21. 7.1 gr with 124 Precision Deltas. Avg. 1080 fps. I tuned the load to recoil as close to my previously loaded 115 gr loads as I could. I can barely tell the difference between them.
  22. I just got my PD order delivered! 3K 124gr 9mm fmj and 1k 230gr 45 fmj. ordered them on 2/11/13. They are finally catching up! Thanks to you guys that canceled your orders!
