Check the center of some of the primers shot out of the gun to see if the they have been blackened and pierced by a damaged firing pin.

One broken trigger stud in a 610 repaired at no cost. Excessive cylinder gap on 627 repaired (by overclocking the barrel) at no charge. Really guys, the readers of this forum probably put more rounds through our revolvers than the rest of the nation combined. If there is going to be a problem It will end up being discussed (with disgust) here. That's no excuse for declining workmanship but it's probably why it matters to us so much and not so much to everybody else.

I'm very happy with the Speed-E-Rack but I've never tried the others. Try 'em all and do what works for you

Rule 8.1.4 of the 2014 USPSA rule book states that unless complying with a division requirement (see appendix D), a competitor must not be restricted on the number of rounds to be loaded or reloaded in a handgun. Fill 'er up

I Put a 6" model 27 barrel on a 4" 627 to supply some leverage for magnaporting that a longer barrel would accomplish. I attached a file and hope it comes out. Well the attachment doesn't show up you can see it at www.durochervetclinic.com/images/627.jpg

Substitute proud hammer nose bushing for firing pin bushing.

A firing pin bushing left proud of the breech face could do it. Had one come from the factory like that, once the bushing was fixed, a headspace problem was created.

I cut down some Federal and R-P 38 special cases to 0.90" and loaded 160 grain Lead Round nose GAT bullets over 3.5 grains of Clay Dot with an OAL of 1.330. I ran them over a chronograph yesterday: In my 5" barreled 627 limited gun 8 shots averaged 843.9 feet per second with a standard deviation of 11.61 fps for an average power factor of 135 In my 6" open gun they averaged 835.9 feet per second with a standard deviation of 27.69 fps for an average power factor of 134. I didn't shoot any groups but they all landed on the head of a metric target from ~35 yards when shot from a table top. They also shot much cleaner than the similar 38 special loads I've been using. Any other Midi data out there?

My brother bought a V-Comp 627 new maybe 4-5 years ago with the same sort of story, Moonclipped rounds would not go in about 50% of the time but individual rounds did. Sent it back to the factory, it was returned with the problem solved but no explanation was given to the nature of the problem or the solution.

I don't mean to drift the thread but on what date does 8 shot minor become effective?

Not being talked about much. I am on the Classifiers Committee, however...and I will suggest that we kill off those classifiers. I can't see any other way to do it fairly. I just shot an 8 round classifier with my 6 shot revo. I shot an 82%, leaving me at 74%. One more point and I go to "A" and you want to take it away from me. I would hope that they would keep the all classifiers already shot and retire the 8 shot classifiers from that point forward.

Many Kudos and thanks to Danny and all the folks in Mississippi ICORE who made everyone feel so welcome at the match. Too many names to mention for fear of leaving out folks who did so much work so others could have a good time. The stages were a pleasure to shoot, the food was fabulous, even the weather was perfect. I hope to see ya'll at the Gator next month!

I saw on the application that the round count is 200+ An chance you can narrow that down a little Danny? Are stages posted anywhere?

Also, even if you crimp it properly a case with a cracked neck won't hold a bullet during reciol. That happened to me during a match.
