  1. First of all I’m only a C/D USPSA shooter. When shooting my Sig P320 I didn’t have that much trouble getting the gun out of the holster but when getting my Atlas Artemis out of the holster, the gun would get hung up getting out of the holster. I’ve tried some wacky things to get the gun out like leaning my upper body forward. Moving my hand further back towards the magwell before the draw etc. I don’t wear a proper double belt. Just a thick leather Vedder belt, because I’m stubborn, and don’t feel like going to a inside/outside system. BUT I just realized that if I unweight my right side where the holster is, slightly, the gun comes out like butter. Is unweighting the holster side of the body slightly or stepping with the opposite foot and drawing (unweighting the dominant side leg)……something that other people do ? Or am I just finding it better because of my inadequate holster rig set up ?
  2. that’s exactly what I did. But I did the hookers and blow first. Handcuffed me to the bed and took the whole $4k. Lesson learned, training and ammo before hookers.
  3. But why now ? IMO Limited Optics is fueling the growth. And out of curiosity did Sailer shoot an Artemis for a time in competition ?
  4. I don’t think so. 1) Costs go up…….faster in the last few years than before. 2) Their business seems like it more than doubled in a short period of time. 3) It’s not something necessary to life like water or medicine. 4) And by raising their prices may get back towards equilibrium where they don’t have as long a wait for their customers.
  5. It’s Limited Optics USPSA…….it’s the new Hotness !
  6. Some information. Looks like the wait for a new Atlas is 8 months and growing. No wonder my new gun is taking so long. New prices starting Jan 1. Ares: 6000 to 6600 Athena: 5600 to 5900 Artemis RDS: 6700 to 7300 Erebus: 6800 to 7400 Nyx RDS: 5400 to 5700 Titan RDS: 5000 to 5700
  7. Yeah it can come out easily enough with the tip of a pen pushing it out. Although I’ve only put it back in twice and I needed a little tap. Would rather not go through the hassle and expense of sending it back to Atlas. And I wouldn’t know and I think my local gunsmith wouldn’t know exactly where to take material from. Hopefully it wears in a little and I will be able to snap it in with my fingers/thumb in the future.
  8. I talked to Randy at Atlas and they were going to charge me $150 to send the gun in, and may not have been able to get to it right away. So while not in love with sending this beautiful gun in for this……. I decided to use a small rubber mallet from a punch kit and I light tapped it twice…….and it fit ! Only down side having to use something to tap in the thumb rest when reassembling the gun, as I guess my thumb is too weak to snap it in on its own, and I didn’t want to force it. But the tap worked !
  9. No way would I let a local gunsmith “drill and tap my frame.” Maybe I would let the gunsmith take some material off the thumb rest.” Probably makes more sense to contact Atlas.
  10. Just bought one, should have in a couple of days. It’s an Atlas thumb rest, but purchased from a retailer as Atlas is sold out. Once I get it I’ll get in touch with atlas and explain the situation.
  11. My Black Friday Hyperion RDS isn’t able to accept my Atlas thumb stop slide rest from my Titan or Aretemis. I just ordered another Atlas thumb rest from Modern Warriors. It must be the slide cutout for the slide stop is just a little tighter on my Hyperion. Regular slide stop snaps in, maybe a little snugger than on my other Atlases. Would I be able to give the new thumb rest to my local gunsmith to take down the hump on the new Atlas thumb rest. I figure much safer to try and trim down a little bit of material from a $140 slide stop thumb rest, rather than touch a beautiful polished slide. Or should I send the gun to Atlas and have them fit it for me ? Thanks for any insight
  12. I don’t shoot any matches where my ammo would be chronoed. It just seemed when I switched back it was MUCH easier to shoot.
  13. Ok I goofed, bought 10,000 rounds pmc 124 fmj. I have already shot 2500 of it in a month. just compared it to my Magtech 115 fmj, and I realize the Magtech 115 is much easier to shoot. Would it be a good idea to train at the range with 124 and shoot 115 in matches ? Would making the gun slightly harder to control with hotter ammo make me a better shooter when going back to the easier 115 fmj. Or would it be better to shoot the easier to shoot ammo all the time ?
  14. Building rifle. My local dealer had 2 PCC rifles but I can wait for my rifle to be built at JP. thanks for the input
  15. I won’t be the Guinea pig. But if if it was reported that it worked for a BUNCH of people……only then might I try it.
  16. I’m new to PCC I have a MPX PCC but never shot it in a match. If I wanted to shoot USPSA with a PCC and once in a while Steel Challenge…… Which gun would you recommend ? Are the muzzle devices different ? Thanks, I was looking for the info on the long JP-5 thread and didn’t see it, or see a way to quickly get what I wanted.
  17. I was just hoping someone knew for sure. I might be too scared to screwup my expensive guns to try it without someone else telling me it’s ok. Maybe I’ll call Atlas.
  18. I have an Atlas Artemis and Titan…… I wondering if I could swap the bottoms and tops of the guns like you could with an Sig ? Are they compatible ? Both are RDS. Has anyone tried this ? thanks
  19. Can I shoot a legal SBR (still has pistol brace), submitted form 1, a week ago. When I get it approved could I shoot the gun in RFRO (rimfire rifle open) in Steel Challenge ?
  20. Send least favorite child to China for slave labor in Iphone factory.
  21. Picked up an Atlas Artemis a couple of weeks ago. Shot it in a match tonight…….looks like I needed to add the Atlas Thumbrest for my shooting. But since I use a thick 1.5” 5.11 belt, and not the whole belt rig….I’ve been using Black Scorpion holsters, and they had a 1911/2011 regular type of holster that fit great………however with the thumb rest from Atlas installed on the pistol…..no way in hell does it fit. I tried one of the minimalist competition holster…..it had a “channel”, and some magnets, but it was very difficult to draw the gun because there is a more flex in my belt, because I don’t run a double belt system. I saw on the Black Scorpion website that they have a holster for a CZ SHADOW 2 with a Nitro Fin, so I’m wondering if it’s possible to custom make a holster. Sorry for the rambling thread, any Atlas Artemis holster recommendations, that would support the Atlas thumb rest, that’s in kydex ? Thanks
