  1. in my opinion and other reloaders I know much more knowledgeable than me, if you are committed to a minimum of an 1100 it is foolish not to go up to apex. For a small amount more I think you get way more machine. The 1100 is not cheap and I’m from the school of buy once cry once so would go all in at that point
  2. Think it’s definitely real. A friend of mine that’s big into canik currently claims: Black version is 850ish, stainless/chrome 900ish With optic model 1000-1100
  3. The brass is as aggressive feeling if not more than g10
  4. I agree, big picture it probably doesn’t really matter too much. If a friend lets me shoot their polymer CO setup the dot leaves window more compared to my heavy metal gun. But if I put time on it could probably split it just as fast accurately. I have a bad habit of over confirming my dot so the dot leaving window is probably bigger deal for me than someone else
  5. I think 1.5 seconds from shot to next shot on the timer is pretty sporty. I know there’s plenty of people out there that can do 1 second but thats getting closer to the top. Also that time depends on game if cover garment is involved
  6. I have always shot 2 eyes open and was lucky it always felt natural for me. With CO being so popular now, anyone with a decent amount of rifle shooting under their belt will already be ahead of the game used to shooting target focused. In fact I think the school of thought on the benefit of shooting target focused in any division not just ones with optics is gaining traction and probably the correct way to shoot on probably 75% of the targets you would encounter in a match
  7. I think certain guns track and shoot better ie the p01 your talking about. I think it’s proven the lighter polymer guns can be shot just as fast as a heavy shadow 2. I think the difference is that you must work harder on the lighter gun and in CO might lose the dot in your window more until you really learn the feel of gun and how it behaves under recoil
  8. If the game/stages make the light a benefit (idpa dark stages) definitely worth it. Otherwise it seems mostly not necessary. The only time I think it makes a decent gain is if you were shooting a stock weight Glock than I think adding a heavy light like a x300 would make controlling recoil easier without hurting transitions
  9. I would place your strong thumb wherever feels comfortable and gives the best results without affecting trigger finger. This is why I like the slim cz safety as it allows me to put my thumb where I like vs where most people like. For me personally I find my thumb too high on a 1911/2011 safety where most people like it
  10. Your probably right that you would have more field of view with a physically smaller window but as mentioned it’s less forgiving. The other big trade off with the larger window is, with proper grip and our competition loads the dot should not leave the larger window. With a smaller optic it’s very hard for dot to never leave the window while shooting

    365x macro

Really wish they would sell just the upper so I could slap it on my XL. In true sig fashion I’m sure they will it might just take a year after everyone has bought the macro….man they are the best at that as a company
  12. You can run it in carry optics. If you have a magwell on it you will need to remove it. Other than that your setup should be good
  13. Never handled any of their 320 modules. I wonder if there’s any difference in texture or material between the two. I’d say the 365 module is not slick
  14. I have been considering this since Sig recently released the comped upper. Would be interested in it for a possible home defense set up on an extra legion. I don’t think it’s ideal platform or if your looking to be super competitive in open. But it would be cool to run it in matches to get reps on hd gun
  15. I have a S2 slide lightened by CGW. Strictly did it to make weight in IDPA CO. I think it handles well, less reciprocating mass usually helps out recoil. As people have said any slide lightened or not can be tuned to feel ideal. I think the biggest factor is if it’s needed to make weight in a certain game definitely go for it. If not the extra possibly unneeded cost could be put towards ammo to practice or a class from a good instructor either of which you’d probably see more return on
  16. Right on. Boom, you have a new idpa setup
  17. I ran a legion with magwell in IDPA for 1.5 years at multiple level 3 matches and have seen them at nationals the past 2 years so I’m positive it’s good to go. Maybe there’s a typo on gun/box dimensions or could be the gun is able to be tilted inside box to fit.
  18. I had the same issues with my xl. I recently added the Wilson combat grip module and it is a HUGE improvement. Feels like a much bigger gun with plenty of real estate to hold on to.
  19. Thread seems reopened so if anyone is currently looking I’ve had great success with wml holsters from red hill tactical. They seem to have an option for almost all popular lights
  20. Everything I’m aware of the magwell is a no go in uspsa CO. Good to go in idpa CO
  21. Both are great guns, probably the top 2 polymer options currently. If you plan to shoot CO and cost is the biggest factor I would say it’s hard to beat the value of the canik rival for the total investment needed and still have a competitive CO set up
  22. Can’t beat the value of comp tac for holsters that don’t break the bank
  23. Bladetech seem fine but at the price point without going to a high end holster I prefer comp tac
  24. I also have a gfds swinger for dryfire. In live fire I think it’s necessary to practice shooting a swinger using both the trap and follow methods as some moving targets are only able to be shot properly using one of the methods.
  25. I think your on the right path with Blake drills. I would only add to also mix in doing them at challenging distances 20-25 yds and then transitions at 10 and 15 should be much improved
