Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Haven't tried, but have you tried different COAL? Longer or shorter?
  2. I don't know, I'll have to measure, but I'm not home right now.
  3. No, it's supposed to be rock solid with no play at all. I would talk to JP.
  4. Does anyone have the PSC-5 dual charge upper? Pros/Cons? Is it worth upgrading to one?
  5. Just to specify, I was wondering on full weak side transition, and not the change shoulder only technique. I usually use that one myself if I don't need to or am required by stage brief to do a full switch. This is what I'm doing already, and so I saw this video and was wondering if it has any advantages and if anybody else is using this technique.
  6. I use the same technique as you most of the time, without switching grips. But if the lean is really hard, you could get a little more lean with a complete switchover. Edit: And I agree, there might be potential for dropping the gun using the technique in the video.
  7. Hi. I just want you guys' opinion on this specific technique I found for switching shoulders. If you look at the video at 2:00 (the link should go directly there) the guy shows a technique for switching shoulders. I am using the same hand switching as in this video, but instead of rotating the rifle over the shoulder when switching grip, and then coming down to present the rifle again, I just move the stock directly over to the other shoulder. My question is this: Are there any advantages to switching using the method in this video? Any disadvantages? Here is the video link:
  8. 90 and 100 are for very light loads like steel challenge loads. With PF around 140 you should ratherb try a 70.
  9. Then I can only guess that the higher pf load cycles faster and that puts the dot back where it was faster. So it seems like less movement, but in reality it just settles faster.
  10. Well. How heavy are the bullets in your 140pf load? You are using quite heavy bullets in your 129 pf load. The main deciding factor of recoil is bullet weight. The more weight, the more recoil. That's the science part.
  11. I would say yes. The 70 lock piece is designed for factory ammo. I just recently got my 70 and I'm using it with 124 grs ammo with around 142 PF. That works great. For downloaded 130 PF ammo, the 80 is recommended. Sure, you can go lower and get even less recoil, but you risk what you have experienced. In my opinion, tuning stuff to the limit is not worth it. One hiccup will cost you the stage in this game. So my recommendation is that you go back to the 80.
  12. Another question on the optics track. Does anyone use a magnifier with your red dot/Holo sight? I just shot a match this weekend with a high percentage of targets at 30-70 meters. While I did ok, I'm wondering if it would have been beneficial with a flip-down magnifier together with my UH-1 for the longest shots. Is this something anyone does for USPSA etc.? Or should I forget about it and just practice more long shots?
  13. Really? Not even an extractor spring? How many rounds have you run it?
  14. To get back on track with JP-5 specific stuff. Are there any spare parts I should have readily available, just in case?
  15. I almost never use mine either. But I had an extra red dot laying around, and had the real estate on the gun, so I thought why not put it on there.
