many videos of shooters racking this way - and I've seen it a couple times at matches - I personally don't rack my slide that way but really no harm in it - optic should be secured firmly anyway

I used "CC3D" Method - Take a slow mo video on your phone. Use progressively lighter springs until you get the ;east amount of muzzle movement - very good method!

I got the 17/34 Tungsten Guide Rod (not extended) and went to a 13# spring - works well I'm happy with the performance. It is an un-captured spring set up

Whan - I agree, I've found some flexibility definitely aids in the comfort factor vs hard stiffness of quality gun belt.

Most optics are designed to well above the force applied by racking the slide - it does have to be mounted properly - if it is they'll be NO problems.
