I’ve been running AA7 in my open guns for 2yrs now if that helps. Biggest thing is to not overheat the guns if your shooting a practice session, heat will kill guns. I shoot almost every weekend btw
The pair that rnlinebacker posted are mine. I would highly recommend going with a Venom Custom. I took the plunge with one and it ran fantastic right out of the gate so I had another one built and it’s been nothing but awesome!!! I ran it for the first time in a major match and it preformed flawlessly as expected. Don’s level of customer service is on point. I would rather deal with one person instead of a company where you are just treated as another number in line. Of the many companies that are making custom guns, Venom Custom and Rafferty Custom are the top two that I would recommend.
For whatever reason the .355’s don’t hold a group. The .356’s do. I tried both and never looked back. I run tc .355’s for minor and .356 rn for major that way I don’t get the bullets mixed up.
I run blues .356 with AA7 and Autocomp. Haven’t had any issues with any fouling or problems. I load at
AA7 - 9.4gn of AA7 1.65 oal
Autocomp - 6.8gns 1.165oal
5” middy with 2 popples
I run any kind of small primer in my open gun, it’ll set off anything. Rifle, rifle magnum, pistol magnum, etc doesn’t matter the brand of primer either. I’ve used Tula rifle as well.
Victor - Blue Bullets have been awesome. Zero leading in my comps and they are very accurate, just make sure you order .356 profile. I have run the tc and the rn blues with zero issues.
