tomjerry1
If a 1911 has been barreled to a 40cal, would it be feasible to barrel to 9 mm?
CHA-LEE
Not really since the 40 cal breach face on the slide is different than the 9mm. When people want to switch calibers on 1911's they usually have a complete upper built in the alternate caliber.
zzt
I agree with C. However, I know people who shoot 9mm out of a 40 breech face and it works (for them). I would never try it, because I use all my guns in competitions and I want them to run 100%. If you try this, know you will most likely not be able to fit the barrel to a new 9mm slide once you have fit it to your existing slide. Unfortunately, there is a lot of variation in 1911 slides, even from the same manufacturer.
