Steelix
Trying to find out what is softer Federal SRP or CCI SPP. I know Federal is the softest primer out there, but is there rifle primers as soft or Softer them CCI pistol primer.

Dr. Phil
I recently tried a small run of Federal SRM primers to see if my 929 would set them off. That gun shoots Win and Fed SPM 100%, so, I wondered if the rifle primers were harder. Shot the entire batch 100%! Next to try a couple hundred sometime. Don't know why I care, except my local gun guys seem to always have the rifle primers available. Nice to know now that the supply seems to be opening up again. Steelix
I have shot so many Winchester WSR and never had a problem. Until now my new gun is setup so soft that I get 1 out of 200 that won't go off. Gun builder told me to run small pistol but I have 4K of federal small rifle at home and just wanted to know if these are going to be as soft as pistol primers. MikeyScuba
I did a test run of my ICORE loads with Fiocchi non-toxic SPP in one gun and Federal SPP in an identical gun (both cleaned prior) . Not only did they all go bang the Fiocchi are way cleaner! Once I get some pics of the brass and 2 test guns (tricked out 929's) I'll post up a thread. A quick pic from last week.
