WAlamo
Can anyone post a pic of the differences in the compensator once it develops a crack and is returned from warranty? I have been trying to find out what exactly they change that prevents it from cracking again.
Maximis228
Maybe they actual fit the comp and slide together properly. Every cracked comp from STI I have seen has been from the slide slamming into the comp.

If it doesn't then mine is properly fitted.
BoyGlock
I use feeler gauge to check clearance between comp and slide
gerritm
Mine never hit the slide and cracked right at the first port on the side. No pictures. StI CS took great care of it and I had the gun back within 2 weeks of shipping it to them. Here is a link to another post about this. gerritm

They lower the first chamber side port down and also the sidewalls are thicker. I cracked 4 last year. The new design has been doing well Top is new design. Bottom is old.. Maximis228
I guess you are right. The 8 or so Comps ive personally seen with clear marks of the slide smashing into the comp mean nothing. Notice how I said "I have seen".
38super
Has more to do with comp flexure and wall thickness. Sometimes the best comps don't last long.
