7.62x39 upper question

Not sure why but I think I want to get/build a 7.62x39 upper , I am sure I can figure that out for the most part. But before the achilles of 7.62x39 ARs have always been magazines that work. Has that changed? Or has someone finally figured it  out.

CProducts work well in this caliber. The 25 rounders are exceptionally nice.

I've had good luck with the C-Products offerings for the x39 AR mags as well.

Thanks for the info. Just a opinion question.  Should I build an upper? I stared looking an there are so many complete uppers.some as low as 350$ any suggestions?

For sure C Products mags have worked well in my x39.

 

Mine is one of the old surplus, Colt made, 16" x39 uppers I got from CDNN. 1moa shooter. 17 years ago it was $500. If you can build one for less and get the 1moa go for it.

 

How do you know it's going to be a 1moa gun? Get the best barrel you can find.

I built a x39 pistol upper once,  my first ever build. Was nothing but problems until the gopro revealed the bolt was short stroking due to a restricted gas port in the barrel. Opened her up about .020", adjustable gas block later and ran like a top. I suggest buying a complete upper.
