chowellacsbd
Looking to build another 9mm 2011 and looking for advice on whether to go LDC or SDC for 9mm shooting minor loads. Either slide, classic or unique will be lightened regardless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

WhoIsPat9
It's really personal preference and the style you're looking for. Some like it short and some like it long. I like mine long. The extra weight will help reduce muzzle rise slightly too.

RangerTrace
You certainly don't need it for 9mm. I like the one you built!!

Jmo2011
I would make my decision based on what the main use would be for. I'm very fond of short cover and light slide for steel challenge.
ltdmstr
I've had a LOT of 1911/2011s over the past 30+ years and this one is probably the most fun to shoot out of any of them. Rounds chamber so smooth you can't even feel it, runs flawlessly and recoil is like a .22. Edited December 24, 2017 by ltdmstr

This one is just ball cut serrations, flat top and Heinie sights.

KennyP
In 9mm I would opt for a SDC. There isn’t much recoil to mitigate with a LDC, and I feel they transition a little nicer (easier to stop on the target right where you look). For a major PF Limited gun, LDC vs SDC is more of a toss up for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CamboSoup22
I’m definitely a fan of the LDC. It just looks smooth and sleek. I know now it wasn’t part of the OP but what about something with a rail? If it’s for fun why not. You could eventually throw a light on it for a zombie night shoot or something along those lines. Good luck with the build! Keep us posted!
ltdmstr
I think SDC v. LDC on a 9 is more about how the gun feels in your hand rather than recoil control. A SDC with full stirrup cut feels pretty darn light when you're used to swinging around a 5.4 or 6.0 Limited gun.

Ocd666
Is the outside of the barrel fluted on the LDC pictured? How do these go for cracking of the slide with the cuts so close to each other? I like the LDC looks better imo
