rocket99
I am looking for a soft shooting minor/subminor load for my son to start shooting a 5" STI with. Does anyone have some data as a point of reference? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
GrumpyOne
Not a BBI bullet, but try 3.0 - 3.2 of Clays (plain Clays, not Universal) at an OAL that will work in your gun.
mike4045
I was using 3.4 to 3.6 clays in mine with coated bullets.
kujo929
Yup, use 2.9 with 180’s and 3.3 with 165’s. But use blue Bullets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
bowenbuilt
You will find Clays hard to beat in a Minor load. Feels just like cheating.
DesertTortoise
This just made minor in my tanfo limited3.1 titegroup @ 1.150 COAL with a coated 180 (blue bullet)
tcazes
2.6 with a 200 grain bbi. Light recoil spring. Perfect
Joe4d
I played with clays and it just never grouped well for me. I would take my normal major power factor loads using tight group or WST, under a 180. Then for minor I would do nothing more than change to a 155 of the same designed bullet. end up with a 145 ish pf load that still runs without changing the gun, plus ZERO adjustments to powder measure, crimp, dies OAL, on and on.. Just switch bullets. Recoil wasnt an issue, but I was running pretty heavily maxed out on weight Steel 1911/ Para's or STI. I dont like the feel of super slow 180's,, rather drop weight, Always prefered 155's for 40 minor.
