38SC, N350, 124 PD JHP

Hey guys. Picked up 6lbs of N350 for a price I couldn't turn down and could use some help with load data.

I am specifically looking for the combo in the titles, 38SC using N350, and a 124/125gr bullet.

Not to be rude but if you aren't running this combo or something extremely close(like maybe a 115 bullet instead) I don't need the data.

I'm running a CK gun with 3 popple holes and a cheeley comp.

Appreciate the help in advance!

Not a .38sc, but in 9 major 7.2gr of N350 with a PD 124 JHP at 1.155 put me right at 165pf.  That might be a good place to start.  You will likely end up at or above 7.5gr because of your longer OAL.

Edit: That was from a CK 9mm with 3 popple.

Thanks. I'd venture to say closer to 7.8-8.0 based on based on the difference I saw going from 9 to 38 and I like to run around 175PF.  Mine started as a 9mm

Good starting info for sure though!

I started with 8.4 and it was too hot.  Down to 8.2 and still pushing 1740fps.

Holy cow !!!

That 8.4 load must have been around  PF230,  or so    ....

How did the brass and gun look after firing a few of those?

I usually start LOW on the powder scale, and work up slowly, with my chrono.

Starting high can lead to real problems.    :)

Just got an open gun with 3 holes.  I started with 8.4 and was was to hot.  Down to 8.2 and still pushing 1740fps.  Just did two more loads at 8.0 and 7.8 to try out tomorrow.

This is how "accidents" happen.

That is what I was told buy the gun builder to use.  And that was a typo!   Not 1740, 1440!

Did some loads on chrono this weekend.  Settled with 7.8gr VV350, put me at a 170pf.

Typo on that 1740!  Probably would not be typing this right now.
