Solo 1000 and 185gr Precision coated lead

Anyone ever used this combo in a 2011? I have an unopened 8# jug of this stuff and I am looking for a major load

You can just make major with Solo 1000 using a 180gr lead bullet.  It will be a superb load with low SDs.  If you don't want to experiment with it, just sell it.  Any number of reloaders (especially shotshell) would jump at the chance to buy some.  It has been off the market for several years.  I only have 4-5 lbs. left and I'm hoarding it for 45 ACP major loads.  I use Alliant e3 for 40 major and minor loads.

.40 is NOT a round to "play with" and you should use a slower powder. Below is data I have and you can see that 165 is just barely achieved at MAX loads. Great powder for .45 Auto, .32 S&W Long, and .38 Spl.

This combo is what I used to make it A class. I've tried a bunch of other stuff and this one is still my favorite.

 

Best solution is to just sell it to me and use some of the other new whiz-bang stuff to be cooler/better/whatever-er...

4.6gr at 1.18" is making 172 PF. Accuracy is excellent and recoil is minimal. Time to load up a few thousand and get to work

What barrel? I load less powder with 180gr coated bullets and make major.  STI barrel.

I love Solo 1000 for my minor 40 loads in my S&W 610.. 3.8-4 gr with a Bear creek 140 RN.. soft shooting and keeps the gun cooler than if I were using Titegroup. I have about 5 lbs left myself..
