microham
Can anyone recommend a good minor load for the Q5? Thanks, microham
BritinUSA
I used to use 3.2 titegroup with a 147 plated bullet, now running 3.9 Prima V with 125 polymer coated bullet. I think the Titegroup load was around 132PF, I don't have an exact figure on the Prima V load... For me, the Q5 seems to run better with the lighter bullet... BillGarlandJr
I shot some of the load I've been using in my X5, which is 3.7 of Prima V with a The Blue Bullets 135gr bullet loaded to 1.130". It wants to shoot out of the Q5! 2 inches at 25yds was kind of the norm when I was shooting groups. That load goes at about a 135pf, but I've been finding with that bullet and the Prima V I have drive them a little harder to get better accuracy. The good news is Prima V at 135pf is still pretty soft shooting.
Northern Xtreme
I loaded up some .356" Xtreme plated 147's with 3.1 gr Titegroup for starting load, couldnt produce a group at 15 yards, some of the bullets were tumbling. I am going to bump it up, hopefully that will work with these bullets.
BritinUSA
If they are tumbling with that load then there may be an issue with over-crimping.. your crimp measurement at the case mouth should be 2 x case thickness + bullet diameter
MemphisMechanic
147s will probably group much better with 3.3 titegroup. 3.1 is barely enough to hit PF with a lead projectile. 147s tighten up when you get them up to 133 or so PF in a lot of cases.
