Cuz
Is anyone using the Vortex spare battery holder on their rifle? If so, what do you think of it? I have multiple rifles with electronics that I don't want to store with batteries installed, but also don't want to forget the battery if I grab a rifle for a quick short notice range trip. What other options are there to attach a spare CR2032 battery to your rifle? Thanks, -Cuz
StealthyBlagga
Nope - just put batteries in the optics and keep spares in my range bag. Not sure why one would want to keep removing the batteries unless the gun is in long-term storage (like years of non-use)..

Dan Sierpina
Leave the battery in it, spares in your bag. Unless it's a total red dot, you probably won't even use the illumination at the range.
jhgtyre
CR2032 batteries are on computer motherboards. I've taken the batteries off of computers that have been sitting idle for years and they still work. They don't blow up and gush acid everywhere like cheap AA's and the lot. Well, if they do, I haven't seen it yet.
Cuz
It's more of a long term storage thing. Once I've played with a rifle a bit I tend to put it away and forget about it for a few years before I decide to shoot it again. I really don't shoot much rifle at all and I'm worried about ruining the electronics on a few red dots and scopes that I've had sitting with the battery installed for four or five years now. StealthyBlagga
1) Put the battery in a small ziploc bag 2) Tape the bag to rifle buttstock with blue masking tape 3) Spend the money you saved on hookers and blow
