What powder/OAL/load data is best using MG JHP 124 gr.?

I'd start by doing The Plunk Test (TPT) - that will establish the

longest OAL you'd be able to use in YOUR gun/mag.  Just

shorten it by a bit, and you're good to go.

Hope you have a chrono - just start low with the N320 (an

excellent choice of powders), and work up slowly with the

aforementioned chrono    :)

Why N320?

Its perhaps the most expensive option for powder, and doesn't gain you anything Titegroup, Prima V, WST, or Clays won't... expect leaving the interior of your gun a little cleaner.

N320 is a great option, for sure. But at 200% of the price of powders that do 90% of what it does, I can't make myself purchase it.

I have always been happy with WW231 - never tried N320, but have read Great Things about it   :)

Probably increases the price of a box of reloads by about $.37, or so?  If I ever run out of WW231,

and get back into limited minor, I might try a pound myself of the N320    :)

Best load I had in Glock 17 was 124 MG JHP with 5.4 gr of Power Pistol at 1.120. PF was 137 10 shot group at 25 yds in ransom rest was 1.71. 6.0 grs shot accurate too, but more recoil.

PF was 144 and 10 shot group at 25 yds was 1.88".

Minor competition.  Thanks!

I was looking at 124 JHP Montana Gold; N320 @ 4.1 gr.  OAL 1.125?

^^^^^THIS^^^^^^

It's basically my load for my G 19/17/34 and M&P 9Pro. Works well in my Sig, just doesn't make Minor.

Power Pistol @ 5.4gr OAL 1.125 is a good snappy Minor load. Practice load.

HiTek coated bullets are a great value compared to full metal jackets. My current minor load is a 124 gr Bayou flat point of top of 3.4 grs of TG at 1.100" OAL. makes 130 of of a G17 with a BarSto barrel.
