cypressswampshooter69
I'm looking for a good steel target load for my Smith and Wesson m&p 40L with a 5 inch ported barrel. I have BBI 180 grain projectiles and titegroup powder.
Old3GNR
I haven't shot a lot of steel with my .40 but I used 3.8 Tite Group and a 165 JHP. It ran 763 FPS with a 126 PF.

9x45
cypress, these is no such thing as USPSA "outlaw" matches. The clubs either operate to USPSA rules, and are listed as USPSA clubs on the website, or not. You are talking about local action steel. Their match, their rules. Check with the match director at the club.
cypressswampshooter69
It's our club match. Regardless I was asking about a good steel load using BBI 180 grain bullets and titegroup powder. Thanks anyway!
9x45
So what do the "our club match" rules say about the power floor? If there is no power floor, you wan the lightest 40 bullet you can find so it goes as fast as possible.
SJan
If it helps: A 180g coated bullet over 3.6g Titegroup is 130 PF in my 5" 2011. The col for that is 1.19, you will probably have to load shorter for your pistol, and I'm sure your ported barrel will be a factor.
