How Fast Can You Clear a Texas Star?

Recommended Posts

At one of our recent matches the star was its own string in a stage, I managed 2.94 from the holster.  What's the fastest time you guys have done?

Here's some more Texas Star action with my 3" snubbie:

I can't remember then last time a Texas Star was first on a stage, so I'm not sure about time from a draw.

I suppose the best response I can give is: Only as fast as I can ambush it.

From last year:

I've seen it cleared in two shots.

Though some might call it part luck, part range equipment malfunction. :D

A hit to the center of the star with a hot load from a shotgun does pose some advantages.

Like a lot of people, I have my good and my bad Texas Star encounters.  I have not specifically timed any of my Star clearing.  I have thought about buying one.

I am not good at them. There was an irish plate rack at the match on Sunday that took me longer to clear than I am proud of.

10 yards, from the draw, in idpa costume it takes me about 3.8 seconds.

3.8 at a steel challenge match last summer with my old Glock 21 and 180 PF reloads, never shot one before.

I have only shot it once... Followed by the Irish plate rack...  I'm glad there is no video of it....
