They light off on a 11.5# hammer spring (CZ Shadow 2) without a problem. I haven't tried 8.5# yet. I've loaded and shot at least 1k without any light strikes. 5pins
Picked up some Federal SPP at the gun show today for $30 per thousand. I also grabbed some Fed Mag SPP to try. Hopefully they work well giving me options.
valerko
bought 50k of SPP magnum few months back. Ended up paying like $26 a thousand delivered. I guess people are scared of magnum primers

5pins
I tried some Fed SPM but they were not as reliable and the standard.

I find no significant difference other than 5-10fps.. What loading platform do you use to seat them?

MikeyScuba
I've been trying some of my regular 9mm reloads in tricked out S&W929's with lightened springs. I use Fiocchi non-toxic primers (+ N320) and 70 rounds in (split between 2 guns), not one has failed to go bang. Of course I have a large stash of Federals.... It will be nice not to have the lead exposure once I run through the Federals, revolvers get too dirty too fast! {edit} Emptying the moon-clips revealed the Fiocchi ones sparkled inside and out. The Federals were black + cruddy inside. However there were plated (Fio/Frontier)and coated (Fed/bayou) bullets used. I'll do a run where everything is the same but the primers.
