Mixing Powder..?

If the same powder measure setting (volumetric charge) for one lot # weighs the same as the same volumetric charge of the next lot #, and the same charge shoots to approximately the same speed with the same bullets and loading, I will mix the two lots.  I still try to use up as much of the old lot as possible before I mix the old lot into the new lot.

If there is a large amount of difference in weights per volume, I won't.

Some powders have LARGE variations from lot to lot.  Especially military or non-canister grade powders.

Your mileage may vary....

I'm running into this as well, since 8lb'rs of H4350 have been damn near impossible to find, I was forced to buy several 1lb'rs... they aren't here yet but I am hoping they will be the same lot number :).

Got lucky, 8 1lb'rs arrived today, in a sealed factory box of 8 - same lot number :D.
