FTDMFR
Recently I got pretty annoyed with wanting to dry fire a particular classifier or target setup but not having the right targets. So, I decided to get a setup that will let me make any USPSA classic, USPSA metric, or IDPA target, in any size, and with any hardcover pattern that my little dry firing heart desires. Material: The targets are made of medium-weight kraft cardstock that perfectly matches the color of the typical target cardboard. No-shoots are white cardstock. I went with cardstock because cardboard is way overkill for my purposes and would take up a ton of room. Sizes: I live in a small apartment, and my dry fire area is a small white wall that I can only stand 6 feet away from. So, I made targets scaled so that, at 6 feet, they will simulate 7, 10 15, 20, and 25 yards. I can make any size in between, but those are my go-to sizes for dry fire. Hardcover: I used to make hardcover by using a Sharpie or black tape, but that got old really fast, so now my hardcover is printed along with the target. Cutting: Manual cutting was the one real deal breaker preventing me from making the quantity and variety of targets I really wanted, so I got a cutting machine. Here are my standard target sizes: And here are some arrays I've been practicing with: And here are the hardcover patterns I can make: So, now I have an instant dry fire target factory in my house, and one less excuse for not practicing!
